    Good replacement for an older model label maker

    I purchased this item to replace a label maker that I dropped and broke. I kept the old label maker in my garage workshop and used it on a regular basis. This unit is similar to the old unit with a few more features, most of which I probably won’t use. The price is good and I have already used the label maker a number of times as I reorganize my garage and shop. I would recommend this label maker.

    Nifty!

    I like this. I need to label containers in the kitchen and hobby projects and it's great for that. Some complain about battery life wake up! Eneloop rechargeable batteries have been around for years and they work great!

    A good basic label maker

    A really handy label maker! It allows you to review your label prior to printing. The keyboard has a retro feel, which I find amusing. Definitely an upgrade from my Dad's old Dymo label maker.

    Disappointing

    I've always like the Brother label makers, however this new model is not user friendly. I used to be able to use "symbols" directly from the keyboard, not this model. I can't figure out how to get to them, even using the manual. My last one was so easy built better too, it lasted close to 20 years. I doubt if this one will and next, will consider other brands.

    Wonderful Edition to our Office!

    I really enjoy using this Brother label maker! I use it at work to label things around our office. It is easy to operate (especially since it is designed like a keyboard) and comes with a helpful handbook. I like the option to add little emoticons or background decorations to the labels.

    LACK of FONT Sizes

    This model is very compact and light weight. The downsize is the lack of font size only (2), Large or Small. The PT65 I have can perform (4) font sizes but stopped working. I still have some M tape to use up and Brother does not have much model that uses M tape only TZe tapes. Brother took a excellent PT65 design and made it worst instead of better. Yes, the PTM95 is simple but lack the amount of Font sizes and you are limited to just two Font sizes, Large or Small. The old saying is "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." Not sure if Brother is trying to instill the beliefs of what the customer need instead of wants like IBM and you know what happened to IBM PC who believe in this rationale. IBM PC are no longer here.
