Description

Meet ByHeart, an infant nutrition company built from the ground up to deliver real innovation on behalf of babies and parents. Our mission is simple: make the best formula in the world. That's why we studied the latest breast milk science, worked directly with suppliers we know and trust, set uncompromising quality standards, developed our own small batch blending process, built our own manufacturing facilities, and conducted a groundbreaking clinical trial. Our goal is to create a future where all parents feel amazing about feeding their baby—no matter how they do it.

ByHeart Whole Nutrition Infant Formula is designed for babies 0-12 months old. We're the only US-made infant formula with a patented protein blend that gets closest to breast milk – by including alpha-lac and lactoferrin (the 2 most abundant proteins in breast milk) as unique ingredients, plus broken-down proteins.

We're the only US-made infant formula to use organic, grass-fed whole milk (not skim). Lactose is our primary carbohydrate (just like breast milk!). We also ran the largest clinical trial by a new infant formula company in 25 years—proving benefits like easier digestion, less spit-up, softer poops, more efficient weight gain, enhanced nutrient absorption, and longer stretches between nighttime feeds* vs a leading infant formula.

ByHeart is the first infant formula company to receive Clean Label Project's highest-tier Purity Award, and our formula is made with globally sourced ingredients in our own factories in Iowa, Oregon, and Pennsylvania.

ByHeart is Non-GMO Certified, Certified Pesticide-Free, National Organics Board Certified Made with Organic Grass Fed Whole Milk and free of: corn syrup, gluten, soy, maltodextrin, hexane-extracted DHA, artificial growth hormones**, and palm oil.

Origin: Made in the USA, with globally sourced ingredients.

Q: Can you think about changing the can to make it easier to open? It's difficult as is with only 1indent and then when you hold your baby it's nearly impossible to open. Love the product not the can!!!

submitted by Bretania - 7 months ago
  • A: Agreed! Maybe use paper cardboard packaging on the bottom part so I can make it easier to open to and more affordable

    submitted byLady v - 2 months ago
  • A: 1000000000% need a can that you can open with one hand while holding a baby!!!

submitted bygmc - 4 months ago
  • A: Thank you for sharing your concerns, we value your feedback and will definitely share it with our team. Additionally, we’d love it if you could email us directly at hello@byheart.com with additional details so we can learn more about your experience with ByHeart.

Q: Can I use boiled water to mix, then once cooled store in the fridge for up to 24 hours? Or once heated, does it need to be used ASAP?

submitted by Joe - 2 months ago
  • A: Yes, absolutely. If you want to save formula for later, you can keep it in the fridge (capped!) for up to 24 hours.

Q: What is the expiration date ?

submitted by Ann - 10 months ago
  • A: Great question! Each unopened can of ByHeart is good for 24 months, but for exact dates, you can see the "Use By" date on the bottom of your can. Once opened, our formula can be used within one month (be sure to tightly cover the can after each use!).

Q: I noticed the can is different. Is the formula the same as it was before?

submitted by Curious Mom - 1 year ago
  • A: The formula is the same. The can is different because they now manufacture their own cans (which was outsourced previously).

    submitted byIH91 - 1 year ago
  • A: We did update our packaging - thanks for noticing! We made design updates to make sure the information on the label was easy-to-digest (pun intended) and could act as a helpful guide for parents looking to learn more about our formula and its benefits. But while our label might’ve changed, our formula did not! Additionally, to ensure we’re always living up to our mission — to make the best infant formula in the world — we’re constantly certifying new suppliers and sources of our key ingredients, like our lactose blend. See more specifics about our certified-clean ingredients on our website.

Q: How long does this formula last (room temperature after mixed) also my son gets constipated on a lot of formulas does this help with constipation?

submitted by Kay - 25 days ago
  • A: Thanks for your question! For the safety of your baby, they should only be drinking formula that has been sitting at room temperature for up to 2 hours. If you want to save formula for later, you can keep it in the fridge (capped!) for up to 24 hours. Our formula is not only clinically proven compared to another formula for softer stools and less spit up, but it is also an easy-to-digest infant formula that doesn't include soy, corn syrup, palm oil, or maltodextrin.

Q: My baby seems to have an allergy to enfamil brand, i mostly bf but occasionally do a bottle, is this a good brand for sensitive babies?

submitted by e - 2 months ago
  • A: Our infant formula is made with grass-fed whole milk, so it’s unfortunately not appropriate for babies with a cow milk protein allergy. Please reach out to your pediatrician for recommendations about what's best for your baby. That being said, we are always listening to what our community is interested in, and will absolutely pass this inquiry along to the innovation team.

Q: Does this have DHA & ARA in it? I can’t find the information anywhere on the label.

submitted by Emily - 2 months ago
  • A: Yes - our formula includes docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), arachidonic acid (ARA), alpha-linoleic acid (ALA) as well as other important fatty acids needed by babies.

Q: Is this formula ok to mix with breast milk? Or should it only be used with water?

submitted by Tara - 2 months ago
  • A: We do not recommend mixing ByHeart with breast milk (when preparing a bottle), as we cannot verify it will optimally mix with our formula. If you'd like to supplement feeds using formula, we recommend doing this as separate feeds rather than combining into the same bottle.

Q: Can this formula be mixed with other formulas. I would like to switch my baby to this formula due to digestive issues from the other brand. But can it be mixed with another brand so I can slowly introduce it to my baby? Thanks

submitted by Tina - 3 months ago
  • A: We don't recommend mixing ByHeart formula with another brand. Every formula is different and mixing them might result in not enough or too much of various nutrients your baby needs. If you have any concerns about how your baby is doing, we recommend that you call your baby’s pediatrician.

I breastfed my son for 9 months before I started using this formula. I tried other brands and he didn’t like them at all. Super gassy and spit most of them up. By heart was the best. He barely had any gas and he never spit up a drop of it. He took to this formula just like having breast milk. I’d recommend this to anyone who wants a formula like breast milk.

The only negative I would say is it’s a little foamy. But I think thats almost every formula after being shaken up. I’ve found that if you mix it and let it sit for 10min it settles quickly! Our baby loves it and has no issues with the taste or any tummy troubles! 10/10 for us!

This is the first formula we tried with my baby as a newborn and I have no complaints! As a mom that couldn’t breastfeed, I was worried about the quality of formula my son would have. ByHeart didn’t disappoint, love the sustainability of the recyclable can, as well as the fact that it is American made!

We are going to keep trying this formula to see if it is the formula or if it is new baby digestion issues. He has started spitting up the formula during the feedings and is having digestive issues. We are hoping this formula will help and we are only on day three of only formula, so we are still crossing our fingers that this will help.

My one month old is doing good on the formula. Haven't had a reason to switch to any other. Though, he is pretty gassy. Being exclusively gorilla fed I do wonder if it's the formula that is producing stinky gas from my baby... I do like how there is a home for the formula scoop.

    So many bubbles, tummy issues!

    1 out of 5 stars
Thumbs down graphic, would not recommend
sd - 22 days ago, Verified purchaser
This formula creates a ridiculous amount of bubbles when you prepare it! And they don’t go away! Because of this it creates tummy issues. And it has caused my daughter to spit up quite a bit. She rarely ever spit up before. I appreciate the clean label and ingredients but something’s just not right with the actual preparation. I’m not kidding, the bubbles will take up over half the bottle once you mix the formula into the water. It’s absurd. And they don’t settle down even if you let it sit for awhile. Also, aside from the formula, I find the can design frustrating. The can is so overfilled when you first open it, that you can’t use the level in the can to level the scoop. That, and the way the scoop has to sit in the lid is not intuitive. You have to force it in every time! I don’t like the can design at all.

I am a first time mom. My baby would not latch and keeping up with pumping is exhausting. We decided to supplement with the formula they gave us at the hospital and stick to that brand. It came with long nights of gas, reflux and crying. And every mom knows the crying is heart breaking. I researched and liked what ByHeart had to say about their formula and it is important to me to go with something that is clean and organic. I decided to try it out and hoped that it would be a one stop trial for my little girl. It took a few days to switch over but once we got to that point she was noticeably better. No more undigested formula in her diaper, less fussiness and less reflux. Im glad I went with ByHeart and happy that I did not have to spend more time trying to find a good fit! THANK YOU!

We were using a formula the hospital had given us “just in case”. Well, my milk didn’t come in like it should, so we had to supplement. We used the Enfamil Neuropro and she spit up quite a bit every time we fed her. She wasn’t sleeping well and wasn’t having regular poops anymore. Once we swapped to ByHeart, my daughter barely spits up and she seems to enjoy this formula much more than the other. She also sleeps harder/deeper too! And for longer stretches of time. We are so grateful for ByHeart!
