Q: If I would like to keep water at 140 F is it possible to preset at that temp?

A: 160 F is the lowest you can go with this model. Then it goes up by 5 F, up to 212 F.
submitted byChris B - 2 months agoA: On average, the kettle will be triggered to reboil the water once it has cooled 15 degrees below the temperature it was set to. For the higher boiling temperatures (ex: 212°F – Black Tea), Keep Warm will activate at 190°F to re-boil the water. For the lower heating temperatures (ex: 175°F – Green Tea), Keep Warm will activate at 160°F and bring the temperature back to 175°F.

Q: How fine/course is the mesh in the infuser? I brew Rooibos teas and they typically need a finer mesh (like 0.33m).

A: 1750 Watts - 120 volts. It is not battery powered nor does it have a USB port. You could use a large 12 volt battery connected to a 2000 Watt inverter, but it wouldn’t last long. This would not work on any 120 volt outlet in your automobile.

A: On average, the kettle will be triggered to reboil the water once it has cooled 15 degrees below the temperature it was set to. The kettle has a heavy base, which is nice since that gives the kettle stability. The kettle heats water quickly -- it takes about six minutes to boil 1.8 litres [note: that is at high altitude (6000+ ft.) and with relatively cold water since I bought the kettle in December]. The two issues that kept the kettle from a 5-star rating: i) the black plastic inside the top of the kettle was not smooth (I had to take a razor and trim a few little strands of plastic that were sticking out); ii) the lid is not a great design because the retractable clips allow water to get inside the lid (a threaded lid that screws on/off would have been better). But, overall, this is a very good kettle at a good price.

Easy to operate controls - makes pretty colors - and the different temperature options are very practical. Purchased after Hurricane Helene after the power came back on but we still had no water in order to have hot water to wash dishes - and now don't know how I ever lived without it to make perfect temperature tea. I know why almost every European household has one of these - they're wonderful - and this model has just the right features at a good value cost!
