About this item

Highlights

  • • FAST BOILING: Chefman Lightning electric tea kettles boil water 25% faster than lower-wattage electric kettles! The 1750W power boils 2 cups of water in as little as 2 minutes to enjoy tea, hot chocolate, pour-over coffee, and other hot beverages faster than ever.
  • • DIGITAL TEMPERATURE CONTROL: Manually choose your preferred water temperature on your tea kettle electric. Select a lower temperature to perfectly steep your favorite blend of delicate tea, or simply choose the boil option to begin heating.
  • • KEEP WARM FUNCTION: Heat once and keep sipping! The Keep Warm mode eliminates the need to reheat your portable kettle for heating water whenever you need a fill up, automatically holding its temperature for up to one hour.
  • • TRICOLOR LED LIGHTS: Easily see when your borosilicate glass teapot with infuser is in standby mode, boiling, or ready; the LED indicators at the bottom of the kettle light up with different colors based on the function.
  • • STEEP LOOSE-LEAF TEA: With the removable tea infuser, you can steep a whole pot of tea in our hot water kettle to serve multiple people. Forget about a separate teapot; you can serve up to 1.8 liters of your favorite tea directly to your guests.
  • • FLAWLESS SERVING: The 360-degree swivel base water warmer holds the cordless electric kettle in your preferred position for easy gripping and pouring. The drip-free spout prevents any errant splatter while serving.
  • • REMOVABLE LID: The lift-out lid completely separates from the kettle to provide a larger space to fill with fresh water and to make cleaning easier. The stainless-steel infuser pops right off the lid to easily clean directly in your sink.
  • • SAFETY SHUTOFF: When your water boils or is gone, our hot water kettle electric automatically stops the tea maker from heating for added peace of mind and safer boiling.
  • • TRUSTED QUALITY: cETL approved with advanced safety technology for long-lasting durability and a 1-year assurance provided by Chefman. 1750W/120V—RJ11-18-CTI-HP

Q: Why is there a prop 65 warning sign? Is it from the actual material? Please explain.

submitted by Sfgirl - 1 year ago
  • A: The company's answer is frustratingly but conveniently vague. The new law requires the company to identify at least one of such chemicals. Why can't the company tell us which ones?

submitted byLucy - 9 months ago
  • A: Our products may contain plastics and/or other materials which have chemical compounds, many of which are found in nature or are the byproduct of the manufacturing process itself. California Proposition 65 law requires manufacturers to notify their customers if a product contains any of the now 1,000 plus listed chemicals that may cause cancer or reproductive harm (in the opinion of the State of California). Since the majority of manufacturing materials are made from various chemical compounds, it is impossible for manufacturers to produce products without at least one of the 1,000 plus listed chemicals being present in products. Chefman takes product safety and compliance to the law very seriously. As such, all Chefman products meet or exceed National and International standards for electrical and chemical safety. We are a socially responsible company and have therefore chosen to notify our customers in accordance with the California specific requirements.

Q: If I would like to keep water at 140 F is it possible to preset at that temp?

submitted by Sneha - 2 years ago
  • A: 160 F is the lowest you can go with this model. Then it goes up by 5 F, up to 212 F.

    submitted byChris B - 2 years ago
  • A: On average, the kettle will be triggered to reboil the water once it has cooled 15 degrees below the temperature it was set to. For the higher boiling temperatures (ex: 212°F – Black Tea), Keep Warm will activate at 190°F to re-boil the water. For the lower heating temperatures (ex: 175°F – Green Tea), Keep Warm will activate at 160°F and bring the temperature back to 175°F.

Worked great until a lid issue.

It works great. Unfortunately the lid on the pot doesn’t want to come out. It can be turned around but not removed.

    Temp control doesn't work

It heats up but there’s no point to the temperature controls— if you set it to 165, it could go to 165 but it usually heats up 10-20 degrees more than I set it to. Yeah it’s fast but it’s inaccurate. The only benefit is that I got this on sale.

    Nice Tea Kettle

My husband Loves this tea kettle. This is my 3rd similar tea kettle. Previously was Sur La Table - first one the plastic on the filter broke off and I had to return it. Second one the glass just cracked when I touched it against a granite ledge (my fault) - but husband loves the tea kettle so we now have a 3rd. I think I like the new version of the filter - hoping it doesn't get messed up as it is a little hard to slide off, but once we get the hang of it, I definitely like it better than the old style because it will be easier to clean and it 'sits' in a sturdier fashion.

    Pros and Cons

I had to return because it was making an electric humming noise when plugged in after boiling. Cons -The stay hot function keeps the water hot for a ridiculous 1 hour. Nice feature, but for 5min. -Not as quick to start as just flipping a switch -Lid is not flip or attached. So you end up leaving it closed trapping moisture. When you remove, you exposre yourself to hot steam and drips from the hot condensastion on the lid. -Base is lightweight and doesn't say flat easily with the heavy-weight power cord. -For a long time after it's done, it keeps bright white led lights on which light up the room at night forcing you to unplug it. Pros -Good Shape. Looks good. Cool lights. Good handle. Ultimately when I returned, I switched the the cheaper model w/o the temp set. It still has the bad lid, but is otherwise nice.

    It’s good, but it leaks.

I love how quickly this heats up water and how we can monitor the temp as it works. However, it constantly leaks as we try to pour which makes a mess and is dangerous.

    Lid problem

While it brings water to a boil quickly it is impossible to remove the lid to refill it. It’s like a vacuum forms and holds the lid on tightly so that the only way to add water is to stream it through the spout from the kitchen tap.
