A: When we're done with ours and we're not going to be using it for the rest of the day, we pour out the excess water and take a paper towel and dry the inside and set it back on the base.
I've had mine for over a year and have never had a rust spot.

at night pour 1/2 cup of your cheapest white vinegar into the bottom.
rinse in the morning and everything will look brand new, guaranteed.

A: I've had mine since maybe 2018. I've never had rust only water mineral build up when using certain water, which can be cleaned with vinegar. Sadly I just broke mine hitting it against counter. This thing is one of the best purchases ever made.

A: I've had mine for over a year and have no rust spots. If I will not be using it for the rest of the day I just pour the water out and dry it with a paper towel and set it back on the base.

A: It has a separate round bottom base that the actual glass kettle sits on that you take it off to pour and then set it back on the base it's very easy to lift off and on...sits securly,put on and lifts off with ease and is very attractive sitting on the counter.

A: The "HamiltonBeachTeam" "expert" is incorrect. Yes, there is a hinge to open the lid, however the lid does not remain open, you must hold it open with your other hand or against the faucet to fill the kettle. If you do not click the lid closed, it *will* be open about an inch, however you cannot open it completely because the hinge doesn't allow full opening without breaking the lid hinge. Disappointed in this and am returning my kettle to Target.

A: When completely unwound, the cord is 25 inches from the base to the plug (not including the plug, just the wire part). The cord stores inside the base so you can make it any length you want from 0 inches to 25.

A: It is boiling hot... To the point when I put it in my 'To Go"coffee MuG... I add my instant coffee powdered creamer and sugar ((just an FYI, after you stir it do not put the spoon into your mouth it will scald your tongue)) I Stir It,twist lid on to my cup,and by the time I get to our church ((15 minutes away)) I still can't drink it because it's too hot!
It is the Best! Within 2 minutes,you have boiling hot water!
I love mine, we use it everyday!

Poor Design
This kettle is pretty when lit, the glass looks nice but is probably hard to keep clean. It heats fast. It is marred by poor design. The large, clunky lid has no button to open it, instead it must be pulled open and forced shut with its plastic clips. With lid fully locked upright, it stands 14" high. The heating element is thin plastic and seems flimsy. The worst design flaw is the very small spout, which curves downward, instead of straight out. When the lid is locked close, the screen & spout only puts out a thin stream of water and when water is low, it starts to dribble backwards instead of straight ahead. Sometimes it splits into 3 streams going in different directions. Messy! The only way to get a good, steady stream is to keep lid partly open, so the filter doesn't obstruct the water. The on/off switch is loose & flimsy. Too many design flaws, to recommend this kettle.

Heat of water very quickly. Holds a lot of water. Also I love that it lights up when it’s on and the lights turn off when it’s off it’s a good visual queue for me to know that I’m not leaving it on the lock feature for the spout is great as well so that you can either lock it shut or hold it open so it doesn’t get moldy.

Stopped working after ONE month
I bought one of these for work 3 years ago and it's still going strong. I bought this one for home on Mar 21st and one month later it wont turn on. Same thing happened with the Chefman kettle after 5 months, and they wont respond to warranty requests. So, DO NOT BUY either of these kettles. More junk that'll end up in a landfill somewhere. Waste.

Great kettle! I’ve had mine for about a year and a half, making at least a cup of tea everyday, & it’s still working great. The minimum water level is a bit too much for one cup of tea, but it still boils pretty fast (2 minutes or so). The cord is a bit short so you’ll need to keep it pretty close to an outlet. I have experienced a bit of mineral deposits (from hard water) but I periodically scrub it and don’t leave water sitting in it. I also leave the lid open for it to dry out between uses.

Attractive, functional and easy to use Mid-size kettle
High quality and easy to use, with all of the 'insignificant' (smile) features that I like: glass karaffe, easy to clean, quick to boil, volume larger than 1 liter, US certified unit, separate base with attached AC cord, toggle power switch at the bottom of the handle area, no temp display or pressure sensitive touchpoint on top of the handle or unit (to get in the way), location and angle of the handle is great for me, lid is attached and can open to a 90 degree angle for easy filling, auto shutoff, no fancy features like a timer or temperature selection.
