Q: Do the numbers on the button rub off?

Q: We need to heat water to 100 degrees. Can the kettle be set to this low of a temperature? Or, at minimum, does it display the current temperature as the water heats up?

A: A- This kettle does not display the temperature as it heats up and the lowest setting is 160 degrees. The Keep Warm function maintains the selected temperature for 30 minutes versus heating to a lower temperature. I hope this helps!

Q: Other brands of similar kettles boast that any plastic that comes in contact with the water is BPA free. I'm guessing that the water level indicator window is plastic on this kettle. Does anyone know if it is made of BPA free plastic? Fingers crossed!

A: According to reviewers at a competitor site: ===================== It is completely stainless steel on the inside aside from two small pieces of plastic. One that seals the thermometer at the bottom and another that connects to the water level gauge on the handle. According to Cuisanart these are BPA free. By ablomination on January 18, 2013 The interior of the kettle is all stainless steel, except for a couple of plastic parts. The rubber seals around the temperature probe and of course the water level gauge which is plastic and the removable water screen. By Steven Arellano on January 18, 2013 Yes, the border of the filter is made of plastic. The water level is lower than the filter so it only passes through it at the end. I love this Kettle. It's beautiful. I've only had it for a few weeks, but it's easy to use. I especially like the keep warm feature. The perfect temperature feature makes a great tasting cuppa. I bought this to replace a different company's electric kettle that my daughter purchased, which failed after just several months of use. I can tell that Cuisinart is a quality product.

I'm a little disappointed as the top opening is sticky and the start/stop switch is unpredictable . We got this to replace an identical Cuisinart Kettle that worked perfectly but developed a leak that we couldn't repair. We like that it stays warm and that it beeps when it reaches the temperature. More useful than the cheaper on/off kettles.

This kettle heats quickly and has a option to keep the water warm. The water level gauge is easy to see when it’s on it’s base and turned on but it’s not visible while you are filling it. Also, I wish I could control the temperature setting manually instead of using the presets. All told this seems to be a good quality product and I am happy with it.

This is our second Cuisinart Cordless electric kettle. The First one was purchased on February 2nd, 2016, and it passed away on June 28th, 2023. Apparently a leak developed between the inner and outer wall of the kettle, because suddenly the water came out foaming. The one we ordered on June 28th had a defective lid latch which allowed the lid to pop open unexpectedly, but its replacement works fine, and I expect several years of use. Since I'm almost 81, it might outlast me. I use it primarily to boil water for iced tea. I use one regular tea bag per one liter of water, allowing it to steep all day for dinner in the evening.

I like everything but the rusting is a big deal. I recommend but take risk, hope yours don't rust. I don't know how to clean. I'm assuming vinegar will help.

It heats up quickly and is nice looking to compliment other stainless steel appliances. But... I guess I don't need the different heat settings and the Keep Warm function I never use. I'm fine having things I never use, but the problem is every so often the kettle will "reset" to the lowest temperature and have the keep warm function on. That's a pain and a waste of energy.
