It has sleek and professional looks that can compliment any kitchen. I like that it rapidly boils water. It is not too heavy and it's easy to pour from. It is a big size kettle of 1.7 liter. This kettle has variable temperature options. I love the blue LED indicator. I like that it auto shuts off after water is boiled. I use this kettle to warm water for my coffee, tea and make soups. It's an excellent electric kettle to save time and have an aesthetically pleasing kitchen appliance.

This kettle also heats up the water very fast! It's very easy to clean and easy to use. Whether you're making tea or coffee, you will get a hot cup very quickly every single time. I absolutely love the various preset temperatures for the different kinds of teas. I am rejoicing about the keep warm function as sometimes I don't want to reheat my tea water overnand over again. The keep warm function worked like a charm and allowed me to drink my tea on my schedule/time-line. I also like the clear cup markings on the pitcher so I can see how much Im making. This is a must buy if you want hot tea fast or want to share a great cup during a beautiful afternoon with friends.

Pluses include very accurate temperatures, cord wrap base, signal alert when desired temperature is reached, easy open top, easly removed and cleaned filter. The stainless steel appearance and illuminated controls is nice. Filling to the appropriate water level can be a bit challenging. The light up water level window is a little hard to see the actual water level. Since it is not a direct view of the water level as you fill it you have to be careful to not overfill it as it takes a little time for the water to enter the level window. No big deal, just a little adjustment from previous direct view water level window. This kettle has some size and when filled significant weight to it. This indicates a very sturdy kettle. Great kettle for family use. Tested the actual temperatures achieved for each pre-set button and the resulting temps were very accurate. The only exception was the "FRENCH PRESS". It is pre-set at 200° and reached 202° before shutting off. The KEEP WARM features is an added bonus.

Its brushed stainless steel finish is easy to wipe clean and the well designed power base gives it great style. The handle with the self explanatory light-up buttons is well balanced for pouring, a good size for my small, older hand. Having tea type and temp means I don't have to guess. The water gauge is easy to read when placed on plugged in base, as directed. The hold warm (30 minutes) ensures the next cups are just as hot as the first. The six beeps at full temp are not loud enough to be heard down the hall to the bedrooms, solving the late night/early morning noise of the microwave door and operation conflict in my home of different schedules! This would be a great gift for any tea lover!

It has 6 preset temperature settings from 160 to 212 degrees F, with tea type tips for each setting to ensure a perfect cup of tea or coffee every time. The preset temperatures are accurate ( I checked with a thermometer). The heating base is compact with a generous cord length. The cord can be wrapped on bottom of base for storage. The kettle is food grade stainless steel with a wide top for easy cleaning. There is a handy little window that tells how much water is in the kettle at a glance. The heating time is quick. There is an auto shut off feature for safety, but you can use a 30 minute keep warm feature for a second cup if you choose. Overall, I love my new electric kettle!

The settings are wonderful to have in an electric kettle: keep warm and various temperature settings for teas or coffee. It takes a few ttries to remember you must press all 3 buttons for temperature, start, and keep warm every time, but once you do it becomes very intuitive. I have used it every day for coffee and/or tea and I can tell the difference the temperature settings make! The keep warm functions well and keeps the temperature regulated for 30 minutes. Keep in mind once you lift the kettle off the stand, the keep warm function is canceled and you must set it again. The cons: The lid of the kettle is an awkward design and prevents you from reaching a hand inside it to clean. Therefore the manual suggests only using hot water and cream of tartar to clean or descale. Keep this in mind when deciding to purchase. Also the handle is cool but the body of the kettle does get hot. I don’t mind this at all but it’s good to know. Lastly the kettle itself is quite heavy. I quite like the sturdiness of stainless steel and don’t mind it but if your hands or forearms are weak in any way this is not the kettle for you. Overall, I am absolutely delighted by the features of this kettle and probably my favorite Hamilton Beach product despite not being perfect.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Hamilton Beach 1.7L Variable Temp Kettle I like this Hamilton Beach 1.7L Variable Temp Kettle for the following reasons: It's stainless steel with helps with easy cleaning, it heats water very fast, automatic shut off feature, cord wraps, it has a window for you to see your water level with blue LED lights, there are options for variable temperature settings as each tea comes with instructions to be made with it's own temperature setting. I noticed that I get the most benefit out of my teas when I use the recommended temperature to brew them. There are temperature settings for 160F delicate, 175F green teas, 180F white teas, 190F Oolong teas, 200F french press and a boil black tea setting. My favorite setting is the keep warm setting which keeps your water warm for an additional 30minutes. All you have to do is push a button and it boils to the temperature needed. This kettle has a retractable wire base. Tips: 1. Always read the instructions provided with the kettle before use. 2. Unplug the kettle the outlet when not in use or before cleaning. 3. Do not immerse in water. 4. Only use for boiling water and no other liquids should be poured in. 5. It has a removable anti-scale mesh filter inside the spout of the kettle. 6. My favorite feature is the "Keep Warm" feature that will keep your water warm. 7. Another favorite setting is the variable temperature setting. Each bag/box of tea comes with recommended temperature of the water to get maximum benefits from your teas, etc. 8. Boils up to 1.7 liters 9. Before first use, fill kettle to the max line at 1.7/max level. Boil the water by pressing start and repeat this process 2 to 3 times.

The kettle arrived very well packaged with thorough instructions for use. It seemed larger than it appeared in the picture, but then again it had a large capacity. I followed the instructions for "Before first use", and found that it was difficult to see the fill line when it said to fill to the Max. Upon doing so it was extremely heavy to carry. It took almost 10 minutes for the full cycle to boil and was quite loud. Other than that, it makes a delightful cup of tea. But for me the cons outweighed the pros, so for most days I will be going back to my tea kettle on the stove

Even has buttons depending on if you are making tea and then has buttons for the type of tea you are making so you can get the best flavor. You can also clean it very quickly and easily as well. The only gripe I have is the lid doesn't open easily. I don't know if that's how they all are but mine is hard to open. Over all its a great way to heat water quickly and I am surprised how often I use it.

I got this during a hot, humid summer as our air conditioning was dying and what a blessing. It produces very little heat or vapor yet efficiently heats water to various temperatures. I've used it to heat water for making gelatin, instant oatmeal, ramen, etc. Perfect for coffee, tea and hot chocolate. The scale filter is a big bonus as our city water supply is groundwater that has seeped through limestone and has a lot of calcium I would recommend this to everyone.

I used to heat the water in the microwave to make a cup of tea, this is so much more convenient and much faster! The outside of the kettle does get warm during use but the handle stays cool. The handle is designed for ease of use in pouring and filling and I appreciate the mesh filter that fits on the spout and can be removed for easy cleaning. There are safety features that make this a safer kitchen appliance, automatic shut off and boil dry protection This even has a keep warm function. Ive also discovered it’s a quick way to get water ready for cooking pasta, by boiling it in the kettle and then pouring into the pasta pot. This is definitely a time saver. I always get busy and I'm constantly burning my tea on the stove or boiling all the water out before I remember. This kettle comes in handy and hopefully there will be no more scorched pots. lol I can boil tea in just 5 minutes with 6 one-touch temperature settings to choose from. I don't have to worry about it burning because it will automatically shut off for peace of mind or I can set it to warm for up to 30 minutes. You can also boil water in this kettle for coffee, hot coco, grits, oatmeal, etc. It has a large window view of the water level with nice illuminated blue led lights. Nicely made from stainless steel with brushed stainless steel interior. It sits on a corded power base and can be removed easily for cord-free pouring. Boil dry protection and a removable mesh filter. My only complaint is there's no place to put my tea bags but I can just add them in the pot with the water. Storage is simple just wind the cord around the bottom of the base. It's 1.7 liters with 1500 watts with 110 voltage. It only weighs 1.51 kgs and the dimensions are 8.9L x 6.2W x 9.9H.

I checked the temperature for each of the 6 presets using a Thermapen and in every case it was accurate to the degree! This kettle also has the ability to hold the desired temperature for 30 minutes using the keep warm function which is a nice feature. A feature that I love is the cord wrap that is built into the base. I keep my kettle quite close to an outlet so I only need a short cord. The extra cord is neatly stored in the base keeping the countertop tidy. This kettle convinced me to retire the stovetop kettle that I had used for many years!
