I am loving this kettle! It boils water super quick! I can choose different temps depending on which tea or drink I want too! It keeps it at temperature for 30 minutes. And its not crazy big (but definitely holds enough for many cups of tea) and doesn't take up alot of counter space. Very pleased with my purchase.

This is a very nice Kettle. It is stainless steel and is fairly large. It heats up fairly quickly no matter what you put in it. It has a audio beep when it is done heating and has a button to keep beverages warm. It also has different presets for temperature so it is just not a on/off situation. The handle seems to stay cool but be careful because the container does get hot. Overall, I am very pleased with this and hope it lasts for years to come.

Not that great of a kettle
The first one I received had a dented spout, and the mesh filter did not come out (it is meant to be removable in order to rinse it). I exchanged the kettle, and the second one I received rattled when you picked it up, like there was a broken piece inside the handle. Aside from the cheap feel, I don't like the beeping when it is done boiling, I also don't like how when you lift up the kettle and then replace it on the base, the light turns on and you aren't sure if it is going to try to boil again or not. It is just confusing. Last thing I don't like is the "open" button on the top, vs the handle. I had gotten it on a sale for $40, but it is no where worth that, let alone its regular price. It seems to be a knock off for a very similar design by Cuisinart. It is worth about $25 in my opinion. I like the fact it has temperatures for specific drinks.

Leaking Leaking Leaking!!! STAY AWAY!!!
This Hamilton Beach electric kettle began leaking in its second year of very light use. It costs sixty-four dollars plus tax, and it should last much longer than that. The warranty is only one year, which is unacceptable.

It has sleek and professional looks that can compliment any kitchen. I like that it rapidly boils water. It is not too heavy and it's easy to pour from. It is a big size kettle of 1.7 liter. This kettle has variable temperature options. I love the blue LED indicator. I like that it auto shuts off after water is boiled. I use this kettle to warm water for my coffee, tea and make soups. It's an excellent electric kettle to save time and have an aesthetically pleasing kitchen appliance.

I absolutely love the various preset temperatures for the different kinds of teas. I am rejoicing about the keep warm function as sometimes I don't want to reheat my tea water overnand over again. The keep warm function worked like a charm and allowed me to drink my tea on my schedule/time-line. I also like the clear cup markings on the pitcher so I can see how much Im making. This is a must buy if you want hot tea fast or want to share a great cup during a beautiful afternoon with friends.

Sturdy construction, very easy to use, a bit heavy
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall this is a very nice kettle. Pluses include very accurate temperatures, cord wrap base, signal alert when desired temperature is reached, easy open top, easly removed and cleaned filter. The stainless steel appearance and illuminated controls is nice. Filling to the appropriate water level can be a bit challenging. The light up water level window is a little hard to see the actual water level. Since it is not a direct view of the water level as you fill it you have to be careful to not overfill it as it takes a little time for the water to enter the level window. No big deal, just a little adjustment from previous direct view water level window. This kettle has some size and when filled significant weight to it. This indicates a very sturdy kettle. Great kettle for family use. Tested the actual temperatures achieved for each pre-set button and the resulting temps were very accurate. The only exception was the "FRENCH PRESS". It is pre-set at 200° and reached 202° before shutting off. The KEEP WARM features is an added bonus.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Hamilton Beach stainless steel electric kettle is easy to use! It fits on the counter, next to the coffee maker. Its brushed stainless steel finish is easy to wipe clean and the well designed power base gives it great style. The handle with the self explanatory light-up buttons is well balanced for pouring, a good size for my small, older hand. Having tea type and temp means I don't have to guess. The water gauge is easy to read when placed on plugged in base, as directed. The hold warm (30 minutes) ensures the next cups are just as hot as the first. The six beeps at full temp are not loud enough to be heard down the hall to the bedrooms, solving the late night/early morning noise of the microwave door and operation conflict in my home of different schedules! This would be a great gift for any tea lover!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Hamilton Beach 1.7 L (8 cups) electric kettle is a great addition to any kitchen. It has 6 preset temperature settings from 160 to 212 degrees F, with tea type tips for each setting to ensure a perfect cup of tea or coffee every time. The preset temperatures are accurate ( I checked with a thermometer). The heating base is compact with a generous cord length. The cord can be wrapped on bottom of base for storage. The kettle is food grade stainless steel with a wide top for easy cleaning. There is a handy little window that tells how much water is in the kettle at a glance. The heating time is quick. There is an auto shut off feature for safety, but you can use a 30 minute keep warm feature for a second cup if you choose. Overall, I love my new electric kettle!

Excellent quality kettle with only a couple cons
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This kettle has several pros and only a few cons in its design. The settings are wonderful to have in an electric kettle: keep warm and various temperature settings for teas or coffee. It takes a few ttries to remember you must press all 3 buttons for temperature, start, and keep warm every time, but once you do it becomes very intuitive. I have used it every day for coffee and/or tea and I can tell the difference the temperature settings make! The keep warm functions well and keeps the temperature regulated for 30 minutes. Keep in mind once you lift the kettle off the stand, the keep warm function is canceled and you must set it again. The cons: The lid of the kettle is an awkward design and prevents you from reaching a hand inside it to clean. Therefore the manual suggests only using hot water and cream of tartar to clean or descale. Keep this in mind when deciding to purchase. Also the handle is cool but the body of the kettle does get hot. I don’t mind this at all but it’s good to know. Lastly the kettle itself is quite heavy. I quite like the sturdiness of stainless steel and don’t mind it but if your hands or forearms are weak in any way this is not the kettle for you. Overall, I am absolutely delighted by the features of this kettle and probably my favorite Hamilton Beach product despite not being perfect.
