What is the bitter taste? I buy Cocoa Krispies occasionally, but will not be buying now. There must be a new recipe. These taste like bitter chocolate mixed with regular rice krispies. Not good! Will not buy again.

Chemical Taste

Thumbs down graphic, would not recommend
Love it - 5 months ago, Verified purchaser
It's nasty. I made the regretful decisions of buying this cereal over Coco Pebbles because I was trying to save myself a dollar. This cereal tasted like straight up chemicals. I throwing this out, there is no way I'm eating that. I'll be sending a message to that company too.

Our Favorite

The only thing that can make that Snap, Crackle, and Pop better is a chocolate version. Our family absolutely loves Cocoa Krispies. It’s a staple in our pantry! (Plus we love the chocolate milk at the end.)

Whatever this new formula is, it’s horrible. This used to be one of my favorites, and now, after the first bowl of new formula, I will not ever buy it again!

New Recipe Fail

The flavor of the new recipe does not taste more “chocolatey” to me. Instead, it tastes like a chemical. This prompted me to search why the recipe changed and whether it was just my family who thought this, which led me to this website. I agree with another reviewer that if it isn’t broken don’t fix it—I’m sure this recipe change along with the “shrinkflation” taking place in the United States is Kellogg’s way to save money.

This was always my favorite cereal. Now it is disgusting and I will never buy it again. Not sure why they changed it but my guess is that adding more chemicals and fake ingredients is a cheaper way of producing it. Change it back!! This cereal is disgusting now!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was excited when I received this cereal because I love chocolate. Well, it’s definitely kid approved, so much so that the box was gone before I actually got to try it. The kids loved it and asked to buy more. Will definitely be buying more for sure.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really hoped to be able to take pictures using the product in different recipes, but my children, especially the youngest, have not left traces of it in a couple of days, they loved it so much that when I realized there was nothing, as an adult I did not love the taste, but it was not bad either, But my children yes, then this product is something that the little ones would enjoy a lot.

Terrible new recipe

Used to love these & would buy a few boxes in one trip but since the recipe change they are awful & taste way over processed. They’re actually really gross now & I couldn’t agree more with what the other reviewer had to say. Please bring back the old recipe, there was nothing wrong with the amount of chocolate flavor in it! It didn’t need “more!” It was my favorite cereal but I haven’t bought a box in months!

I want a Cocoa Krispie Divorce

I have been eating Cocoa Krispies for 35+ years and you finally found a way to stop me from eating them. Thanks for taking away my childhood! With the new recipe change they are nothing more than Post's Cocoa Pebbles. I'm assuming the change had something to do with cost savings and not the consumer. Whoever came up with the change should be standing in a unemployment line. The old saying is "If it ain't broke, then don't fix it"..... Well you broke it! I want a cereal divorce and I'm taking the kids with me!!!
