I had stopped buying this cereal a long time ago because it had hardly any chocolate flavor to it anymore. Imagine my surprise at tasting it recently at my daughter's house. They FINALLY stopped pinching pennies and finally added much more cocoa!! Shocking I know.
Please bring back the old recipe!

My husband and I used to love Kellogg's cocoa krispie cereal . For whatever reason, apparently the recipe was changed and it's terrible. We switched to Posts Cocoa Pebbles.

Ever since I was a kid I remember the joy I would get when my mom would bring The Chocolate Rice Krispies home and the joy I still get at this age. Sometimes it's a little hard finding in my near superstore but when I do I make sure to stack up 🤎
Pregnancy Craving Heartbreak

The old recipe was amazing. A cereal I craved since childhood and especially during my first pregnancy. During my second pregnancy I had that familiar cocoa krispies craving and bought a box. Imagine this pregnant lady’s dismay when it tastes like complete garbage now. The cereal is darker and seems like fake chocolate (not that I’m sure it was real before… but it tasted real). But it seems almost waxy now and doesn’t have a chocolate flavor. This is so disappointing and I would consider it inedible. I won’t be buying again sadly.
Original Negative Review Deleted. Triggered?

They deleted my original review that had ton of likes. They have also deleted other negative reviews and pay others to "promote" positive reviews. Your sneaky but not smart. Crooked company knows their cereal is no longer being bought and is disliked. I've been a consumer for 35+ years and they took away something that can't be replaced. Your cereal now tastes just like your competition. If it's not broke, don't fix it. Your management should be fired along with whoever is over this page. You deleting an honest review shows you are scared of the truth. "YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH"! Time to drain the swamp at Kellogg's and bring back the original Cocoa Krispies!!!!

What is the bitter taste? I buy Cocoa Krispies occasionally, but will not be buying now. There must be a new recipe. These taste like bitter chocolate mixed with regular rice krispies. Not good! Will not buy again.

The only thing that can make that Snap, Crackle, and Pop better is a chocolate version. Our family absolutely loves Cocoa Krispies. It’s a staple in our pantry! (Plus we love the chocolate milk at the end.)

My mother is 97. Her doctor only allows her to eat rice cereals. Cocoa Krispies are the only kind she likes. She eats it every day. Seriously. Her great-grandkids all want to eat breakfast with her. I'd give it 5 stars of they'd lower the price.

New Recipe Fail

The flavor of the new recipe does not taste more “chocolatey” to me. Instead, it tastes like a chemical. This prompted me to search why the recipe changed and whether it was just my family who thought this, which led me to this website. I agree with another reviewer that if it isn’t broken don’t fix it—I’m sure this recipe change along with the “shrinkflation” taking place in the United States is Kellogg’s way to save money.
Taste terrible now. Not the same formula.

This was always my favorite cereal. Now it is disgusting and I will never buy it again. Not sure why they changed it but my guess is that adding more chemicals and fake ingredients is a cheaper way of producing it. Change it back!! This cereal is disgusting now!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really hoped to be able to take pictures using the product in different recipes, but my children, especially the youngest, have not left traces of it in a couple of days, they loved it so much that when I realized there was nothing, as an adult I did not love the taste, but it was not bad either, But my children yes, then this product is something that the little ones would enjoy a lot.

Used to love these & would buy a few boxes in one trip but since the recipe change they are awful & taste way over processed. They’re actually really gross now & I couldn’t agree more with what the other reviewer had to say. Please bring back the old recipe, there was nothing wrong with the amount of chocolate flavor in it! It didn’t need “more!” It was my favorite cereal but I haven’t bought a box in months!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My kids love cocoa cereal, they love the chocolate flavor. My boys finished this box in a couple of days so it's on my shopping list all the time. I also make them rice krispies which they love for school snacks.
