Pump stops working within a year

The pump stopped working after a 10 months. I get P2 error but cleaning the filter, the pump's filter doesn't solve the issue. The water gets accumulated in the tank despite the pump operating, and once the tank fills, the dehumidifier stops working. This is not supposed to happen if the pump works. And the worse thing is they don't have service in Canada.

Had this for 3 seasons, 1st season was okay, 2nd season the pump stopped working and Midea basically said "to bad your past the 1yr manufacturers warranty" and refused any help, 3rd season it dehumidified okay, now into the 4th season it ices up and the defrost no longer functions. I was told these, as well as all other products are throw away products with a limited life span and very limited parts support. The company products are listed under a multitude of different brands, so do you research before you spend hundreds on a product that may only last around 12 months of usage(i live in a cold weather state so a season is only around 4 months long.

As for so many others, it made it 17 months and then died to be sent to the land fill. What a waste of resources. Emptying the water is messy and spills/drips frequently. Does a great job removing water from the air.

Live in humid Florida and this unit has been able to keep my place at 40% humidity. I usually have to empty the bin every 2 or 3 days. I thought about the 22 pints one but then I would have to empty the container daily.

I paid top dollar thinking I would get a high quality product. I live in New England and we have high humidity summers and I need a consistent and dependable unit. This is no longer working after only a year. I had a small, inexpensive GE unit prior to this, it worked for 20 years! Wish I had kept it!

Bought at Home store. On the expensive side. Interesting approach to saving space and providing large receptacle. The receptacle however, when full, is very heavy and awkward. Pump did not work from the beginning. Call to Midea was unhelpful as the assistant had no idea about this item and was just reading from the manual. That's when I realized the manual included in the box WAS THE WRONG ONE. This is a 2021 model and I suspect rebuilt.

We've had our system for 3 days now and in spite of going through and making sure everything was setup properly numerous times, this thing hasn't collected a single drop of water. The bucket is bone dry.

Worked great for 7 months

The first 7 months were great. Worked perfectly lowering the humidity from 70 to 55% and holding. About a week ago I checked it because it was running at 66% humidity but no water was in the bucket. No obstructions, filter is clean and the fan sounds great but no more dehumidification. Disappointing that it failed so soon, hopefully the warranty is decent!

Pump does NOT empty bucket allowing growth of hazerdous MOLD
1 out of 5 stars
Sick-in-NJ - 2 years ago

I bought this dehumidifier because I trusted the brand to deliver a quality product. They did not. As the title states the pump on the model does not empty the bucket fully, in fact it leaves it nearly 75% full, a significant detail that was never mentioned in the manual or product description. You can see in the picture the exact level to which the bucket empties just by looking at the line of mold growth. The mold to grows in the bucket unabated and may sicken your family members especially if they have any respiratory conditions such as asthma or COPD, like my mother-in-law. This is a dangerous product that should be taken off the market or replaced with one where the pump either bypasses the bucket or always empties it fully.

Another thing to fix - 2 years ago
originally posted on Midea
The main reason I bought this is the pump feature and secondary the smart functions. While this unit still dehumidifies the pump doesn't work and I see nothing anywhere on the internet about this issue. I can't be the only one. I'll have to crack open this unit blindly and take out pump and see what is wrong with it. The pump quit working after only one summer season. To recap, pump enabled, filter clean, pump pickup tube drops down into reservoir, reservoir is full and unit shuts off when full.

Most dehumidifiers are supposed to work for at least 5 to 10 years. Midea dehumidifers work for 14 months and then you have a piece of garbage going into a landfill. Don't waste your money. Buy something else if you can.
