Q: How much water does the side tank hold?

A: The side tank holds 3 quarts of water, or 3/4th of a gallon. Add in the bottom part, and you need one full gallon of water. Use Distilled water for cleaning, but I use spring water for making ice.

Worked really well for a while then turned itself into defrost mode and has never come back to normal. I tried unplugging it and all that but it seems to be dead in the water. I had the unit for less than a year.

This ice machine is awesome! Our ice maker went out on our refrigerator and I had already purchased this for my bar. We moved it into our kitchen since it is quiet and perfect size for the counter. The ice production is quick it only takes a few minutes for it to make enough ice for our family of 4 and including guests. It is easy to install and use. Love this product.

Garbage product it breaks after a few years common issues are the logic board failing, the compressor failing and other issues…. It’s also not repairable it’s mostly disposable.

I love this product. It fits so much ice in it and it was super easy to install. It is a little loud when making the ice, but it’s not bad enough to disturb anyone. It’s pretty big, and a little bit heavy, but it’s definitely manageable. It’s super easy to use since it connects to my phone, and it’s been a fantastic addition to my college apartment.

The ice maker is great. It dose have some quirks to keep it working properly like having to turn it off and back on if it is making slush instead of cubes. We do use filtered water. Regular cleaning keeps it working properly as well (more than most machines). The machine is quiet.

We'd like to help out with the water not flowing from the side tank. We recommend checking to see if a potential air bubble is trapped within the line. This can be remedied by lifting up the icemaker 4-5 inches. Also make sure that the hoses are flat. Do not invest your money in this unit. Mine stopped working only a couple months after having it they sent out a replacement and still here where the unit stopped working less than a year after that.

I love my GE opal icemaker. We have two homes and I have one at each of the houses (because they’re in different cities and it’s a long way to travel to get fresh ice each day 🤣). All of our friends and family love it as well. I have shared the link for it with several people. I’ve also purchased it and gifted it to two family members who were really covering mine. I have had the one at my summer home for five years and I’ve had no problems with it. The one at my Winter home I’ve had for maybe a year. No problems with it thus far either. Although, I’m not very techy, and so I have my assistant set it up and program it for me. Love, love, love it!
