GE Profile Opal 2.0 Nugget Ice Maker

Loving it so far!! Makes the perfect nugget ice quickly.

Easy to set up. Now that I am addicted to nugget ice, going back to regular ice was a less-than-satisfying experience.

The machine makes the small, soft ice pieces ("nuggets") that I find to be excellent for all of my iced drinks. The ice texture is excellent for folks like me who occasionally enjoy chewing the ice in their drinks. The size of the ice bin and production rate works well for our household of two; however, it may not be able to keep up with the demands of a dinner party or barbeque when several couples are using the ice. Also, the cleaning process is a bit of a process - too bad that couldn't be automated like high end European coffee machines are designed. Overall, I think the machine has been a good addition to our butler pantry.

We have the machine in a busy office. We loved it when we first received it. Loved the nugget ice! I cleaned it every couple weeks. However, less than 6 months in it seems the pump has gone out. We are in the middle of working with the company on replacing it. We will see how it goes.

We’ve had 2 of these ice makers and they ALWAYS break. I cleaned it every week and descaled it every 2 to 3 weeks. It makes a high pitched noise. The These ice machines were not made for last longer than 8 months. That’s a lot of money to spend in a product that doesn’t last long.

The Opal 2 makes the perfectly-sized, crunchy ice like you get in drinks at Sonic and Zaxbys. This kind of ice is exactly what I wanted, and my Opal 2 makes it daily! So far, I’ve been very satisfied with my purchase.

This is my favorite thing I own! It makes ice soo fast and It is easy to clean!

Love the ice and how fast it makes it. Quiet and compact

Every time it starts to make another batch of ice, water pours in from the top of the bin which starts to melt the ice already produced. Just got it today. Not sure what is wrong!

This machine is very impressive for it's quality and the amount of ice that it puts out! We have a large household and this icemaker manages to keep us with a steady supply of ice. The machine itself isn't that big but it produces ice very quickly and quietly. The nuggets are nice and crunchy, and last a long time in a double-walled water bottle. Installation was very easy (just be sure to follow the cleaning instructions first) and I appreciated that the water tank could be installed on either side. I actually really like the app feature--it lets me know when to tell my housemates to fill the water tank. The light also makes it feel very fancy. Sometimes the side water tank needs to be lifted in/out or the B Tube needs to be pinched a bit to let water flow into the main reservoir. I also wish there was a place to put the ice scoop on the machine (not in the drawer) but beyond that we're very happy with it.

I grew up on Route64 big drinks from Sonic in East Texas. There aren’t many Sonic’s out in the country cornfields up where I moved to help my elderly momma. NOW I CAN HAVE THE NEXT BEST THING TO SONIC ICE!!! The GE Profile Opal Ice maker. It was easy to set up, works independently and self contained. It’s an BEST ALL-AROUND MACHINE! It’s helping make this house seem more like a home.

I love this nugget ice maker. Here's a tip if you decide to purchase one: I highly suggest using distilled water in your machine for ice and when cleaning it. I live in CA, and our tap water is awful, on top of the fact that we have really hard water. If you love the nugger ice, this is the machine for you!

i am so upset with this machine. the ice itself is lovely. however, i cannot enjoy it due to the high pick shrieking that this device makes. i have tried to trouble shoot everything! no luck. this was so close to being perfect - instead, it’s a torture device!

Noise Quiet level and great ice production and size/capacity of production. Cleaning is frequent so it should last a good while I hope. Nightlight is a nice touch too. Installation was a breeze too.

I really am in love with this machine....it was a matter of minutes before the ice started making. It's the nuggets ice....I use spring water in my machine and it's so tasty....I got this machine cuz I love to chew ice...it's filled again by the time I finish I glass of ice....my husband just like to put it in his drinks...its fast fill up and the light on it is great.

Stopped working after 6months of use....constantly requested a warranty swap and now outside of warranty. DO NOT PURCHASE. Amazing when it worked for 6months and ever since been a huge pile of junk after constant calls

This ice machine was great for just under a year. Now I have had it for just over 2 years. It is very noisy at times, wake you up from deep sleep noisy. Requires a lot of care and cleaning to keep it working properly. Manual says Descale every 2-3 weeks, Sanitize once a week. I am doing both once a week. This is at least 4 hours of labor plus the 18 hour soak time.

We love our new ice counter top ice maker. Easy to set up and makes ice quickly. Just what we needed plus looks good on our counter!
