For temporary keeping

It was perfect for the first 6 months. When it got to a year, it started to have problems, overheating fast, really loud and saying it needed more water when it was full. A year and a half later of having it, it broke completely and wasn't making ice anymore. This ice maker is decent while it lasted but definitely not for long term keeping, no matter how ontop of we stayed with the cleaning.

Great countertop option but does not keep ice cold

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a really nice addition to my kitchen appliance lineup! I don't have a fridge that makes ice, so I've been using trays for the last couple of years which isn't always convenient. The cubes from this machine are a great size, you can decide between small or large cubes. It's not the quickest machine but not super slow either, I can fill my container in about 2 hours ish. Very easy to use and fill, just plug it in, add water, and selected your cube size. It's not a small machine so it definitely takes up counter space if that's an issue. One thing I don't love is that it does not keep the ice chilled once it's made, so you need to transfer it out of the machine to keep it cold. That requires me to keep an eye on it more often than I'd like. Overall good option if you're looking for a moderately hands off machine to make ice!

Disappointing for Whirlpool.

Lasted only 6 months. Started making a terrible screeching and grinding noise occasionally after only about 5 months. By 5 1/2 months it was doing it everytime it would fill the well to make ice, until it finally just died altogether. And of course, it's past the time to return it.

Short Lived Enjoyment

I thought I liked this ice machine at first. But man oh man, cleaning this thing is nearly impossible, and now it’s just randomly leaking in my counter. I’m just over it. 👎👎 only lasted less than a year.

Perfect...at first!

Have had this ice maker since the end of Nov 2025. Was working pretty well however it is very difficult to clean as other reviews mention. Less than 7 months from purchase and now water is leaking all over the counter every time it makes more ice.

Great affordable ice machine

I’ve had it for a year now and it’s great! i think if your ice is melting fast it’s the temperature in the room it’s in because i notice when it’s hotter it melts faster (it’s in my kitchen) but overall it keeps its shape and i transfer the ice when it’s full into a container in my freezer for longevity and accessibility for me to have ice throughout the week without having to keep my machine running consistently!

I’ve had the ice maker for just over a year and a half and it worked perfectly until it just stopped working. Until then I was extremely happy with the amount of ice it produced and the speed at which it produced it. I cleaned it once s month like the manual said and used filtered water so I never really had trouble with mold growth like some reviewers but it is not an easy machine to clean mainly because of the small size.

Don't buy it

This is the second one I purchased and both of them were defective. The first one the water supply wasn’t reaching the unit to give it water and this second one it was make a loud noise and wasn’t making ice at all.

Just know that the ice will only get made in tiny batches and it’ll turn itself off after every cycle until you empty the tiny basket. So it may make 26 lbs of ice over 24 hours but to get that you’ll have to tend to it regularly

Regretting my purchase

Bacteria infesting environment. It’s not easy to clean and the combo of heat, water, and cooling features will lead to bacteria & pink mold.

I Love Ice!

For the most part I like the machine. The large size ice pieces are the perfect size. You have to stay on top of cleaning the machine. I don’t like that it only produces 9 pieces of ice at a time and to me it takes too long for ice to be ready. The tray moves way too slow. The ice does melt pretty fast.
