Q: Is this dishwasher safe?

A: Should be DW safe as older ones (non matte and enameled all the way around) were! This is an inferior product and I am not happy with it. Also said "lifetime guarantee" but now says limited 3 yr guara

A: Thanks for your inquiry. The Cuisinart Stovetop Steam & Soothe Tea Kettle is not compatible with induction stove tops and will not work with one.
submitted byProduct Expert - 4 years agoBrand expertA: I'll have to test myself, but the bottom of the kettle is ferromagnetic, and that's all that's needed for this to work on an induction stove. I don't know why a "brand expert" is saying otherwise.

Q: Does the handle get hot when water is heated ? Can you pick up the teapot with boiling water in it ? Had one that you could not lift off the stove when the water was hot

A: For whistling kettles, when you hear the whistle, turn off the burner, remove the from the burner and wait approximately 20 seconds until the water ceases to boil. DO NOT POUR BOILING WATER. Always use potholder or mitt when pouring. Handles may become hot, especially if other pots are heated on the range.

The Kettle works fine, it smokes on my electric burner and did catch fire one time, but that may be user error. The steam sets off my smoke alarm.

There is an inside seam that started rusting after the first use, despite emptying it and leaving it upside down to drain after each use. Throwing it away after only a few uses.

Wouldn’t recommend because even after washing after use I let it dry and there are circle marks inside on the bottom and some rust:( the whistle works well. I feel like I wasted my money. I called the company and got a replacement, but it still does it too :(

Purchase this tea kettle 2 times and both times it was a disaster,the first time it was super hard to open the top to put water in and the handles get extremely hot.The second time the whole black ring that you use to open the tea kettle with came off so the kettle is useless and handles very hot

Very cheap quality! Not worth the price. Very thin floor of the pot. Makes crackling noise when boiling water. I had to replace this item as soon as possible after purchase.

I only had this item for about a week and had to throw it away just now. The whistle did not go off even so it had water in it. The top of the lid was melted off and my whole kitchen smelled like burnt plastic. I was lucky my smoke detector did not go off . I live in an apartment and it is pretty late. Kind of disapointing i was waiting to get a tea kettle for a while . The stove top pot i was using worked way better . i noticed sometimes if the teapot was not aligned with the stove top it will not give off any whistling noise. I think the lid was the best part of this item.It had a tight seal and the handle was easy to pull out without burning my fingers. Overall i would not recommend buying this tea kettle. I would just set a timer with a pot of boiling water instead and wait until you have the funds to buy a good one.

The kettle is great except the mechanism for the steam whistle where the pivot pin pops out. This has happened on two previous kettles.
