A: The Cuisinart Pure Indulgence 2-Quart Ice Cream Maker (Model ICE-30BCP1) requires its freezer bowl to be completely frozen before each use. After making one batch of ice cream, the bowl warms up and must be refrozen before it can be used again. Attempting to make a second batch without refreezing will result in suboptimal freezing and texture.

A: Hi Nisisi - yes, you need to freeze the bowl prior to use. It's recommended you freeze the bowl for 12 to 24 hours prior to use. To determine whether the bowl is completely frozen, shake it. If you do not hear liquid moving, the cooling liquid is frozen

Preparation: 5 minutes or less; 15 – 20 minutes; plus 15 - 20 minutes chilling time. 4 cups cola or other soda, lemonade, cranberry juice, white grape juice, Kool-Aid®, chilled * 1. Serve immediately, or if desired, transfer to an airtight container and store in the freezer. Best ice-cream maker I've ever used. Simple to use and easy to clean. I have made 10 differet batches of ice-cream, all with fresh fruit (banna, strawberry, pineapple, plum, blueberry, watermelon, mango, pear, dragon fruit, cantaloupe). AMAZING every time.

It’s a great machine .. makes my ice cream perfectly. Extremely noisy so unless your kitchen is on the other side of the house closed off you will hear it going for the full 30 mins lol but still.. nice product makes creamy ice cream -freeze for firmer ice cream obviously.

I didn’t even know I wanted an ice cream maker till my husband asked for one for his birthday. This little machine is awesome! Very easy to use. Recipes can be super simple or more involved. The ice cream is delicious. I even whip up a quart to send with the meal I made for a widow who was ill. It churned while I cooked and was ready to pack and go. She was delighted.

With my favorite desert, ice cream, being so expensive at the store, it was time to buy an ice cream maker. Reading tons of reviews, I decided to go with the company Cusinart, a manufacturer that has never failed me before. So easy to use with just an on/off switch, I put the freezer bowl in my freezer for 24 hours and it was ready to use by the next day. My favorite recipe: Coffee Icecream- 1 1/2 cups cold milk, 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar, 1/4 cup instant espresso powder, 3 cups cold heavy cream, 1 tsp vanilla extract. Mix. Add all to freezer bowl. 25 minutes later, done. Put in a container to firm up a bit, enjoy. Easy to clean all parts that need a handwashing. Freezer bowl back in my freezer waiting to mix another batch of ice cream when needed.
Great ice cream maker, a little loud though.

It's a great ice cream maker. 2 things to be aware of. 1) It does not have active cooling. The cooling is done by placing the cooling element in your freezer for 12 hours in advance. 2) It's fairly loud when it runs. Other than that, it's great.

Works as described. It seems to be faster than my old 1.5 qt. Four star instead of 5 is because I thought this new model would have a quieter motor but it's as loud as the older model.

I had the smaller Ice Cream make from Cuisnart and still love it, but I wanted the larger one and it is amazing. I absolutely love it. It is so easy to use and makes the creamiest ice cream ever. This machine is super affordable especially considering how reliable it is. If you are a novice or a professional ona budget - this is your only choice!
