The smell is not good. Reminds me of a dry cleaning shop, even though Google tells me there are no dry cleaning chemicals in it. I feel like I need to rewash all my clothes.

Thanks so much for your review, Celeste. It may be helpful to know when storing the product, it can become thick or lumpy when exposed to extreme hot or cold temperatures. We recommend storing your softener at room temperature – in a cool, dry place and using it within one year. The product you have is still safe to use. If you want to remove lumps/thickening, you can mix a capful of the product with 1/2 cup warm water until blended. It should be added via the machine’s dispenser or directly to the rinse water if your machine allows. The resulting mixture would be approximately three medium-load doses. It is safe to use the entire mixture as long as you don’t exceed the fill line on your dispenser. However, if the mixture has not mixed easily with the warm water we don’t recommend using it. This really makes clothes ultra soft, reduces wrinkles to nothing, has a great fresh smell and a little goes a long way. The fabric softener is thick so in HE washers I add a little water to the fabric softener to prevent buildup. I love Downey.
