e.l.f. SKIN Holy Hydration Makeup Melting Cleansing Balm

I have to give this 5 stars. I usually take off a star for scent, but I’ll let it slide this time . I have sensitive, clog & acne prone, adult African American skin. Nearly everything will clog my pores or cause a breakout. I rarely wear makeup due to the products I use to remove it, not living up to the hype. Still, I have to wear sunscreen which is already pore clogging for me. I struggled to find a cleansing balm/oil that didn’t break me out or cause irritation. My acne is largely hormonal, but can be caused product/cleansing methods too. I’ve used this elf balm for 3 nights now, and there aren’t any breakouts! My skin hasn’t felt irritated or sensitive as if a breakout is on the horizon, either. I was worried given the slight scent it has, but it has not bothered me. The balm melts easily and washes/wipes off well. I do use the Clear Skin towels to go over my face prior to my second cleanser. Nonetheless, I will purchase the larger size over Abolene, Clinique, Farmacy, Neutrogena makeup wipes, and Micellar water (including the favorite). I have had issues with all of those products whether it’s to actually get the day off/out of my skin, or just irritation. Take that with a grain of salt, but I wanted to share in case someone else is tired of spending money they don’t have to maintain acne free skin. I’m so glad they had a mini version. I felt happy trying this knowing that even if it failed, I’ll be okay losing $5 rather than $35.

Just as good as the expensive ones! I used Clinique take the day off balm for years but it’s ridiculously expensive and wanted to try a budget friendly option and have made the switch to elf ever since! It removes all my makeup, including waterproof mascara. It doesn’t leave a film or irritate my skin and works great. Highly recommend!

This cleans so well and leaves my face feeling clean but not dried out. It even takes off my daughter's dance makeup easily.

I love the easy smooth texture and that it has no scent so it doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin. The packaging is easy to open and close and keeps it fresh plus there’s a lot of product in that jar.

Amazing product. This product melts away all traces of makeup, including waterproof eyeliner & mascara. It is a wonderful texture and doesn't leave your skin feeling tight. Very happy with this cleansing balm, especially for the price point. You get 2oz of product and you need only a small amount so it will last!

I really love this product as it works so well for removing my makeup. It does burn a bit if it gets in your eyes so be careful of that - but overall, it works great!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I usually the makeups shown in the picture. I used if after I applied cleansing balm to see if it got it all off. I would say it is 98% effective! I wear waterproof mascara, waterproof eyeliner and waterproof bronzer followed by a primer!! My face felt so smooth and clean after using this product! Definitely going to add my daily routine!

It removes make up so good and its a truly good product.

This is unlike anything I’ve ever used before. You can feel how soft the balm makes your skin feel as it’s cleaning your make up off. Very nice product
