A: Hello and thank you for asking this question. With the Eero 6 two pack you can choose either of the units as your primary router by either connecting it right to the modem and replacing your current router or by connecting it to your existing router. With the primary Eero connected to an internet source via ethernet the other unit will function as an extender and only needs a power connection. However, you will need to choose the right pack and set it up correctly. Which Pack to Buy The eero 2-pack you mentioned is likely a kit containing one eero 6 router and one eero 6 extender. This is a great option because you need at least one eero with an Ethernet port to connect to your existing modem or modem/router combo. eero 6 Router: This is the main unit that will connect directly to your Optimum router using an Ethernet cable. It has Ethernet ports that allow it to act as the "gateway" for your new mesh network. eero 6 Extender: This is a smaller, portless unit that extends the Wi-Fi coverage by wirelessly connecting to the main eero 6 router. It cannot be used to start a new network on its own. A single eero 6 extender will not work by itself. It's an add-on device that needs an existing eero network to connect to and function. submitted byMatt - 5 months agoTarget expert supportA: Hi Art. Thanks for reaching out! The eero 6 system 2-Pack has 1 eero router and 1 eero extender. Each eero router has two Ethernet ports. One of the Ethernet ports is used to connect your eero to the Internet via your modem. The other Ethernet port can be used to hardwire another device directly to your network. The eero extender won't have any Ethernet ports. If you're looking to use the eero router in a hotel, you'll need to plug the eero router into your room's Ethernet and then plug your computer into the same eero. If you'll need 2 eeros in the hotel, I would recommend the eero 6+ 2-pack instead because each eero in that system will have two Ethernet ports. I hope this helps. Have a great day!

Here are my pros and cons of eero Pro 6 tri-band mesh Wi-Fi 6 system (3-pack) Pros - easy to install - clear instructions given - covers up to 6000sq ft - speed up to a gigabit - it took less than 15 min to setup - bandwidth improved 200mbps to 400mbps - WiFi signals also improved across our house. - best for people who work from home . For downloading, playing games or streaming videos. - a must have during pandemic,were everyone in working from home. - best tech support Cons - a bit expensive . Not everyone can afford it. Overall a must try WiFi system . I am loving it . I use it mostly for conference videos and watching movies . I can see a huge difference from my regular WiFi routers vs eero tri- band. I m the Happy customer

This eero Pro 6 Wi-Fi 6 system fixed buffering issues we had and even improved the cell phone wireless calling ability. We placed one in the basement at the far corner and another on the opposite site. The last one was placed in the kitchen. We could see the difference with how fast the TVs buffered to the next screen and opened up videos on you tub and other streaming devices. Streaming is now seamless in our house. I really love how the app walked you through installation. There was no second guessing the process. It was straight forward. I recommend this system be in everyone's homes, especially with the increased virtual learning and working from home.

They gave step by step instructions, I love the app it lets you see what is connected. You can plug in two devices directly into each router. I like that there is a guest feature that you can have a "dummy" password that you can give to guests so they do not have to have your password.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The router required an App to set up which was easy to install, I just plugged an ethernet from my modem into the "hub" box and went through the app to get it set up. Then I was able place the extenders around my house to enable better coverage to those far away corners. It works well and was simple to get running. It allowed me to add an extender into my garage to provide better WiFi to a camera that was almost too far away from my original router. The only note I would say is that some of these extenders come with Ethernet ports on the extender and these do not have those, but as far as a wifi extender these work great.

I work from home and my daughter does online school so we are constantly using our Wi-Fi. At night time there are multiple devices being used in my home from the TV to guests as well. I've been able to set up 1 eero device on each floor of my home and we've totally noticed a difference, especially in the basement. My house is 2200 sq feet and this 3 pack was perfect. It was easy to set up, downloading an app on my phone and then plugging them in. I would recommend this set for anyone needing to maximize their Wi-Fi reach and usage.

With ipads, computers, laptops, amazon alexas, smart tvs, our smartphones and all our other connected devices the Eero really came in handy. and became a must have. The Eero came with an amazing router and 2 extenders that covered our home and even outside, the Eero covers about 5,000 square feet. our home is a 4 bedroom, 2 bath, living, kitchen, garage, and patio. Before the Eero system works amazing, before we had several dead spots throughout, but not anymore and no more buffering. It was so easy to setup with the app. Definitely a very much needed improvement and a welcomed improvement. no need to worry anymore about dead spots losing connectivity. A must have in everyone's home.

I never played with a mesh system before and after setting this up I was already impressed with the WiFi through out my home. The set up was very easy once you download the app. Just plug into the modem and follow the steps. So it came with 3 pucks so o put one downstairs by my modem, one in the Garage and upstairs. What I like about this mesh is it’s easy to connect to and since it’s dual band it will auto connect to 2.5 or 5 depending on the device. Not like how my regular router where I had to choose which eliminates that pain. My security cams out side my house had trouble connecting to the old router but now since I put a puck in the garage WOW! I have no issues and all my devices run great I get that true 500/500 with these bad boys. And steaming has never been the same with no disconnects what so ever. I’m super happy with this product and I recommend mesh WiFi to anyone that hasn’t tried Mesh WiFi.

For practical purposes, I had installed the modem-router on the main floor but there were connection issues on the lower floor, at the other end of the house. Wi-Fi deadspots are not fun and this is why I wanted to install a mesh system to help those issues. The installation was really easy and only took a few minutes and I was up and running! So far, no problems with dead spots and that's making me happy!

It was super easy to install and to use (specially thanks to the app that walks you trough all the process in a very understandable way), and even while several electronic equipment were at use at the sime time at home, regardless of location (perfect coverage in every single rooom and corner of ourr house) the signal continued being extremely stable and solid, and I am also very impressed with how reliable it is. The pods are very well constructed and have attractive looking style.

It took some time to open a website or a link. Listening to the music was hard too because the music always paused and continued after some time. It was frustrating. When I received eero Pro system, I literally survived. There were 3 devices which I placed where my WiFi connection is the worst. Now anywhere in a house I get connected without any issues. And very fast.

As simple as installing the app, turning off your broadband, connecting your first eero and then turning broadband back on so the app finds your devices. Took 15 minutes or less, and now I'm in business with the router in my living room and the extenders in my home office and back room. With so many phones/laptops/tvs/everything else in this house, it's great to have stable fast internet in every corner. Highly recommend!

After installation we were able to get strong signal and higher speeds from one end of the house to the other. Before we had issues when you got too far away from the modem/router combo from our provider. It was very easy to set up with the included instructions and they were actually clear to read and follow. If you've been looked for a way to boost your wi-fi signal from one end of your house to the other this is a great way to do it.

So far we are not seeing the lag that we occasionally had with the others. Set up was easy and would definitely recommend this product.

However, all headache is solved after I install the Eero tri-band mesh system. It's super easy to install and set up. The kit comes with 3 packs so it is fully cover entire of the house without any dead spot. I can feel the internet speed improves within hour setup. I play game, my wife works online and the kids watch YouTube so it definitely helps a lot.

The set up was super easy and I was able to place the extenders right where I needed extra juice for the wi-fi. The extenders can be moved upstairs or in my theatre in my basement. The extenders are the perfect compliment to the router. The eero app is user friendly and I can easily run a speed test. I don't have to use any of my cell phone data now that I have the eero!

I set up the router and extenders, signed my items in to the new network and tested them out. Before I had problems with weak internet upstairs and in my basement. Not any more! It even extends outside now! Great product!
