Q: does it have an on and off button?

A: Hi - I don't own this iron but by looking at it, I would assume that the round dial under the handle will allow you to turn it all the way around to an off position.

A: Yes — the Electrolux Essential Iron (model LX‑1700/BK) does not have a separate “On/Off” switch like many countertop appliances. Instead, power is controlled by the main temperature dial located under the handle. There’s no dedicated on/off button on the iron body. 🔧 How it works: You plug it in, then turn the dial from the “Off” position to your desired fabric setting. The auto-off safety feature will switch the iron off after inactivity (typically 8 minutes when upright, 30 seconds when laid flat), and it reactivates when you move or press a button.
