A: Hello Kevin - Thanks for your interest in California King Encino Fully Upholstered Platform Bed Cream Boucle - Threshold. The PBD is not recommended for use with a box spring. There is a standard bed version of this bed that would require the use of a box spring. I hope this helps - Shilpa

Q: does it matter if the box spring is 6 or 10 inches high

A: Hi Karen - Thank you for reaching out! The recommended height for a box spring is 9" with an 11" mattress. If you go up to a 10" box spring, we would recommend a 10" mattress for the same combined height of 20". I hope this information helps! - Cedria

I’ve never written a review but the quality of this bed is so poor that I feel obligated. I ordered this bed as soon as it came out in 2022 (mistake not waiting for the reviews). The legs are cheaply made and shift nonstop. The mattress sits incredibly low and it looks odd. Super disappointing of Studio McGee and truly wish I could return.

We’ve had the king/cream linen for over 2 years now. Never have had any trouble with it and it still looks amazing. Two of us put it together. Would repurchase if we moved today as it has held up great, looks as good as the day we put it together. Lots of compliments when people see it!

Paid a lot of money for this bed and was so excited for it to be delivered. When it arrived it was missing half the support legs and came with the wrong hardware kit. We ordered a king size bed and it came with an assembly kit for a queen size bed so needless to say, we were missing a lot of the hardware needed to assemble the bed. I tried calling customer service numerous times and they said they would send the missing hardware but they never did. Would not buy this bed

If I could give it negative reviews I would. The price tag alone for the frame along with the name (take that for what you will) you’d expect quality. Is it pretty, yes. Anything further, from the quality, to the construction of the bed, to the structure - zero. I’m beyond disappointed in the bed overall.

Once I built it, it looked great and is exactly what I wanted. In my opinion though, it's not worth it. It took way too long to build, too many steps, none of the items were labeled A, B, or C, etc. and I could have gone somewhere else bought something similar and had that company build it for me.

I tried so hard to make this bed work but the legs just kept snapping. We woke up many nights on the FLOOR. After 4 months of fixing it every time it fell we called it quits and had target pick it up for a return :(

Love the look of the bed, but two of the screws in the back are stripped, and it should've been recommended to have a low profile box spring - the mattress fits overly snug into the platform - it makes it very difficult to make the bed. for the price of the bed, I expected more.

This bed will bottom out/break/bend legs like all the other reviews. I was really excited about this bed because of the look of it - but the construction is AWFUL. You’ll end up having holes in your floor/carpet because of how much it rubs back and forth from getting on and off the bed.

LOVE LOVE LOVEEEEE this bed. We ordered it for our primary suite and it was perfect. Looks very expensive and the quality is amazing. Is was easy to assemble and has held up amazingly. I would highly recommend this bed and would say the bed slats are SO WORTH the extra money!! You will not be disappointed

In looks this bed would get 5 stars but in quality, 0. Poorly constructed, one of the nuts was stripped, the legs don’t stay attached, the middle support legs bend. Our bed has bottom out on us several times now. This is being returned. Don’t buy.

It looks nice but it’s not sturdy. I have this bed for a month and two of the legs have fallen and cannot hold the bed up. It took over 2 months to get to me as it was on back order. For the price, there is better out there.

I absolutely love the color and look of this bed. But unfortunately, we’ve had this bed less than a month and like another review it just doesn’t feel sturdy and feels like it could break easily. We have to be careful getting on and off and already feels like the support legs are not secure and moving. Hopefully will be returning to use to 900$ towards something that won’t break
