Treadmill tracking troubles
I’ve been using my forerunner 170 now for about 3 weeks. I got it as an entry level getting into running type purchase coming from the Apple Watch Ultra. Overall I like the product, but I’m giving it a 3 solely because tracking runs on a treadmill is not accurate in any way. Now I realize it’s difficult to track distance on a treadmill but every informative video I’ve seen says there’s ways to adjust the distance after running a 1.5miles on treadmill and that’s just not the case. I’m sure my experience will be much different when I do trail runs but something that was so easy to track on my Apple Watch is now so frustrating. I do like being able to see the zones for my heart rate which is something you don’t get on Apple Watch so that is nice as I am learning to run within a good rate.

Forerunner 170 Music
I am very happy with the Forerunner 170 Music. It absolutely does everything I need it to do for running and I can listen to music. I use it for strength training as well and it does a great job automatically detecting the beginning and ending of a set.

Great update from having the forerunner 645 before
I bought this after my forerunner 645 music died after many years of use. This is a great update that feels a lot fresher and have some nice new features. My headphones also stay connected way better to this than the old one, that used to disconnect at times. The range for bluetooth seems greater. Very happy!

Obvious evolution
I am really enjoying the watch. The faceplate is so much brighter and easier to read. I also appreciate the few new/updated features. Most recently using the Instinct 2, there is a bit of a learning curve with determining my way around the 170. However, I like the smaller size and profile.

Love Garmin
I brought this about 3 weeks ago and it has been great. I've tried multiple running watches and nothing keeps up with me like Garmin Forerunner. I really like that they have the morning and evening report. The colors are always fun.

Love the watch didn’t need the music add
I LOVE this watch. Does everything I need stat wise to help me get stronger as a runner. I’m still a beginner to mid runner so I was looking for additional help on pace targets and metrics. I deducted 1 star because I don’t think I truly needed the music component so I could have saved money had I know this doesn’t integrate at all with apple. I don’t want to buy a Spotify membership. I also typically carry my phone with me anyways so I can stream music from my phone.

I didn’t know what I was missing
I’ve had Apple Watches for about a decade now - I never wanted to swap to anything that wasn’t Apple. But I bought this one with the music download about a month ago because I was tired of finding ways to try to carry my phone when I run. This watch is so much more precise than Apple Watch. I really like the sleep tracking and body battery function as well. That’s also something Apple claimed to track but it wasn’t accurate/detailed like Garmin. It’s pricey, yes, but I would buy it again!

Best Forerunner yet!
I am obsessed with this Forerunner. It's my 3rd vetsion over that past 14 years! The new 170 Music is so customizable with settings, colors, skins, etc. I love that I can go for a run using a garmin coach program or suggested training based on my recovery status. The music storage feature is what really sets this one apart from others because smart phones have only gotten bigger, so it's great I can store music or podcasts and not have to run with a phone.

Great Watch- Great battery life and Easy to use
I just started exercising more and was looking for a watch that has a long battery life compared to the former one I had at. 18 hours. So did some research and bought the Forerunner 170 Music 3 weeks ago. It is practical and easy to navigate. I really enjoy all the features ; especially the sleep coach. The garmin connect app is super user friendly. I highly recommend for those looking for a simple watch that has a very long battery life and is user friendly. you won't regret it.

Affordable fitness watch with everything
I'm so happy overall with this watch. I bought it to replace a Fenix 7. I like the fitness and sleeping insights. I also liked the affordable price. I started running again and l love the coaches plan. I use the watch a lot and the only drawback is battery life as I'm only getting 5-6 days between charges.
