NOT the upgrade I hoped for

I purchased the Vivoactive 6 to replace a very old Vivoactive 4. For me, as a user of an older model, the 6 is a case of one step forward, two steps back. The main plus of the 6 is the crisp, vibrant color display. There are also a few interesting new features, like a compass in the hiking app. They’re nice, and I can see they could be potentially useful, but I doubt I’ll really need them. However, for me, the added features are outweighed by the drawbacks. First, there’s the size. The watch face is smaller than the 4. This means all the added features, while colorful, are more difficult to use. It also means that if you have standard straps which fit most models, they won’t be usable on the Vivoactive 6. But the biggest drawback for me is the wallet. I purchased the 6 instead of a larger, slightly cheaper competitor specifically because I didn’t want to lose the wallet feature. However, while the wallet was always a simple swipe away on the Vivoactive 4, it’s now buried deep in a submenu on the 6. It’s much less convenient, and now you can’t even use the wallet if you’re running an app. It’s not unusual for me to stop during a bike ride to pick up a post-ride snack. It was so convenient to pay using the wallet even though the tracker was running. Now, that’s not possible. It’s a huge downside and makes me question my continued loyalty to Garmin.

Amazing Features But…

I bought this a few weeks ago and I am overall impressed. The health and fitness trackings have been so useful throughout my days as I can track my heart rate, stress, steps, and after each night I can see how good my sleep was. I love working out with this watch as well! The automatic set detection works well with arm movement, but as expected not the greatest at counting reps/sets when it’s leg day. But adjusting my sets and reps is soo easy so it’s not too much of a problem. My only complaint is that I do not like the plastic look!! I had switched out the Lily Active with this because the Vivoactive 6 has way more features. But concerning the aesthetics of this watch, I’m not a fan of it. I wish it was metal all round because it lowkey looks cheap. But the features of the watch makes up for the looks.

I traded in my old Vivoactive 4s due to obsolete software issues. The Vivoactive 6s has way more options and it is easier to navigate the different features. However, I still think the device requires you to be technogically savvy, but overall I am happy with the update workout stats after each workout.

Love my new vivoactive! So much more information than with the FitBit. And I connect with family on fun challenges. Only thing is my text messages are not coming through even though all the other phone notifications are. Trying to troubleshoot this. Any suggestions?

I enjoy my new watch coming off years of an IWatch my only issue is mustering thru YouTube, TikTok, and Reddit threads to learn features, change settings. That being said the GPS and health settings are stellar! I believe the V02 max is the closest you can come outside a drs office. As an older runner, I don't use coach settings as I don't need a device giving me advice but it will harsh you for taking long naps during the day. I do wish that one day there was a feature to log sporadic injury(ies) that would account to reduction in action for the day but, I do love this wearable

I had been happy with my Vivoactive 3 so I decided to upgrade to the Vivoactive 6. After owning the 6 for less than 2 weeks I noticed a big scratch on the watch face. I don't even know what I touched to cause it. If I knew the watch face glass was so soft, then I would have considered a different watch or at least a screen protector. The watch still works, but I am disappointed at the durability given the cost and my experience with the 3.

An upgrade from my Polar

I recently broke my Polar fitness tracker, looked at reviews of Android compatible fitness trackers and decided on the vivoactive 6. I have not been disappointed. Setup was easy, and so is defining and tracking my workouts. The fitness, health and sleep summaries are very useful, and I was pleasantly surprised that after going on a hike, I got a visual representation of my path. Overall, quite pleased.

Made the swap from my apple watch to the vivoactive 6 and I do not regret it at all!! I love it so much. The details on every activity you log and the amount of info it provides is the best. I bought it mainly to keep track of my weightlifting at the gym and my runs. It also helps me to stay more motivated in hitting my steps or having a little break when I'm not moving as much. I do not ever take it off! Best purchased I've made in quite a while. Definitely recommend it if you are someone interested in health and fitness.

It's a little magic around your wrist! I watched so many reviews before buying this watch, and still - every day there's new little details which surprise me. So many different, unique and important health stuff in such a small, light watch. The battery life is amazing. Modern, simple look.

I just got the vivoactive 6 after having the vivoactive 4 for the past few years. Wow, what a great update! Graphics are so much brighter and added insights like sleep and sleep coach is great! And the extended battery life is amazing! I had to charge my old one every night and this one can go for days without a charge!!!

Great watch for step & sleep numbers! I truly love the battery life too. As much as I enjoy my Apple Watch (I do wish Garmin had the photo option that Apple does) the battery on my Garmin is the best, was in the woods for a week and the charge lasted the entire time.

Awesome watch

Got it a little less than a month ago, upgrading from a forerunner 45. I get so much more stats, more accurate and precise stats, and a lot more features. I am a little suspect on the accuracy of the SpO2, but the sleep stats are so much more accurate and consistent than any other Garmin I’ve used. Overall amazing watch, it has the amazing features and stats overpriced Oura rings have combined with the watch features of an Apple Watch, for an incredible price!
