Great Features & quiet

Love updates
Love my new Garmin! The updates are awesome and battery life is still wonderful. Only thing is I have small wrists and I wish the band/ face itself were just slightly smaller. Otherwise love it and will buy in the future.

Perfect for me!
I had been wearing Vivofit trackers for many years and they were great but recently I felt the need to make a change and upgrade to the Vivosmart ones. This Vivosmart 5 is my first in the line and I have to say I really love it. So many features and so easy to use! The extra functions and ease of charging the unit have made me a happy believer right out of the gate!

Many features
This is my third Garmin Vivosmart watch, having progressed from a 3 to a 4 and now a 5. I do like the bigger watch face and wider band. Face is easy to read with several display options. Switching between sub-options under the time is easy and convenient. The replaceable band is a really nice feature. The band had broken on my 4. Super glue held it together for awhile,but once that didn’t work I had to replace the watch, even though it was still working fine. About the only thing that’s confusing to me is the mileage count. Even though I’m connected to GPS, it seems to be way off. Walks I take every day, and that I’ve measured using an odometer, come up way short. Steps are accurate, but mileage is definitely not. I’m not sure what the problem is, but it’s not a huge issue for me—just disappointing. Overall, the larger size, many options, replaceable bands and affordable price make this a good purchase.

Since your Vivosmart 5 uses Connected GPS to record GPS data, all distance data will come from your phone. If you're noticing inaccuracies with distance, your phone may be having trouble maintaining a strong signal during your walks. no battery life
I need to charge this about every 3rd day, which is really frustrating. I don't check the time or turn on the display often either. I had a vivosmart 4 two years ago and it has a physical battery that lasted a year before replacing. The minute numbers are lighter than the hour numbers which make it a little harder to read as well as the occasional weather icon that obscures the top of the time display. I'm a senior and I don't find this ideal

I love my new vivosmart 5 watch. It talks to me. Tells me when to move and walk more. Very accurate readings and easy to use. Its very easy to charge and love the light weight feeling while wearing it.

Great features but major bug
I have had my Garmin Viviosmart 5 for about 1 1/2 years and it has great features. But it has stopped auto-tracking, and this has been a known issue for at least 5 years (I have seen discussions of issue on various platforms going back that far). Tried software update on Garmin webpage but device is not supported. Webpage directed to different app but it wasnt a secure file so I didnt download the app). Finally just did a reset, and it started auto-track again, but it only last about an hour before it stopped again. Why hasnt this issue been fixed? That is the only thing I don't like about my viviosmart, but it is a major issue, and I would think twice about buying it if I knew about the issue beforehand.

Perfect for small wrist
I bought this based on the size since I have a very small wrist. Definitely great for a small wrist! However it ends there. The stress feature which is part of the tracking is frustrating and there should be a way to turn it off. If I could turn the feature off I would since in the beginning it was causing my stress to be even higher. I wrote in for help as many others have and our requests go nowhere. I just do my best to ignore the features. Would not buy again.
