Device good. App&Manual awful. Pay service worse
I’ve had a Vivofit over a year and vivoactive over six months. The sensors work fine. Battery life is good. Customizing displays is difficult/impossible to achieve granularity of data. I don’t use this for pretty pictures. Manual on line useless as is the advice displayed on the watch. “Listen to your body” No I want data from my device and the software. The app is hard to use. Related features are buried in different categories. The paid service offered no more useful ways to correlate and compare data. The phone help is always pleasant. They have different degrees of experience so sometimes getting a resolution takes time.

CONFUSING TO USE
TOO MANY STEPS TO DO SIMPLE THINGS. IT TOO MANY STEPS TO DO SIMPLES THINGS. TOO CONFUSING YO USE. FOR EXAMPLE, I WANT TO DO CARDIO. WHY DO I NEED TO SET INTERVALS. I JUST WANT TO DO 20 MINUTES. I WOULD LIKE TO SET IT AND WORK OUT. THE SAME WITH SLEEP. WHY ISNT JUST MEASURING MY SLEEP? ITHIS SHOULD BE AUTIMATIC. THIS IS FOR AN ASTRONAUT OR ENGINEER. AS A RESULT I JUST USE IT FOR TIME. WOULD LOVE TO EXPERIENCE ALL FEATURES BUT ITS TOO TIMT CONSUMING TO SET. A FITBIT IS MUCH EASIER TO USE.

Awesome, not uncomfortable to wear at all
I have been wearing this for about three months now and my biggest concern was it was going to be uncomfortable around my wrist, cause it’s kind of big compared to the Fitbit that Inspira 3. The problem with the Fitbit was the actual interface on the watch was horrible. You couldn’t do anything with it. It’s the opposite with the Garmin. It’s totally useful even though it’s small there’s a lot you can do with it without using the app. I love it. It’s comfortable. It’s not getting in my way , I don’t even notice it on my wrist.

Small,compact device
I was looking forward to this since Garmin stopped making the previous model which I honestly preferred because it was slightly bigger and easier to navigate. Somehow no matter how many flights of stairs I walk, it’s not reflected in the stats. For me, this is a case of “if it’s not broken don’t fix it!” I was really looking forward to this model but I’m really disappointed. However, for those who want a small compact device the battery life is excellent.

Issue with synchronizat of the data
I do not recommend this watch. I purchased it in August 2025, and it worked normally then. On October 25th, 2025, it stopped syncing data to the app, and I could no longer track my activities or steps. I followed all the steps to make it work, unfortunately it did not work.

Love updates
Love my new Garmin! The updates are awesome and battery life is still wonderful. Only thing is I have small wrists and I wish the band/ face itself were just slightly smaller. Otherwise love it and will buy in the future.

Perfect for me!
I had been wearing Vivofit trackers for many years and they were great but recently I felt the need to make a change and upgrade to the Vivosmart ones. This Vivosmart 5 is my first in the line and I have to say I really love it. So many features and so easy to use! The extra functions and ease of charging the unit have made me a happy believer right out of the gate!
