A: The mattress pad just barely could fit over the Bassinest padded sheet that is sold with the unit. We stuffed in it there, but then it wouldn't lay flat. We even tried to put the pretty pin dot sheet mattress on it. Believe me - we wanted it to work. There's just not even room for all of that. We ended up returning the mattress pad, and just purchased plenty of the white sheets with grey pin dots. They fit very well together.

A: Halo here! Our Waterproof Mattress Pad will not work well for the Bassinet Flex, but our Halo DreamWeave Breathable Mesh Mattress Pad will.

A: No, it is NOT 1 1/2 inches thick.... not even close. And it very strong, and certainly no breathable. The breathable mattress pad we purchased for our larger actual crib IS breathable. And this quilted pad is not large enough to put the standard padded crib sheet that came with out Bassinest. So we're keeping the standard one that came with it, and the pin dot sheets. If we feel we need a mattress protector later, well.... I can sew. I'd take the great quality full CRIP size protector, make a pattern, and actually make a mattress that would fit. That won't work for everybody, but I took Tailoring in College. Note: I'm not saying it's poor quality. But it's not manufactured in a way that you could use it. I'm sure Halo will invent something soon.
