I have many Hamilton Beach products in my home. That says it all.

It's a great little toaster! My only complaint is that not all standard cut slices will fit so you have to cut in half.

It toasts just the way i like on bread and bagels even though it says it is wide i did have a problem getting a few fresh bagels to fit. The finish is not finger print resistant so if you move it around your counter a lot you will have to clean more frequently. I also do not like the crumb tray as it does not catch everything and the crumbs work their way out the bottom.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] No toaster is perfect. Due to the variability of products put into it, it can be difficult to determine the proper doneness. Therefore 4 out of 5 stars is more than good , it is very good. This toaster looks great and can sit on your counter. No reason to hide it in the cabinets. The toast that it puts on various products is very good. I prefer rather light toasts. Doing this I get a few places that are not as light brown as the rest of the product. It is still very acceptable. I have not tried darker levels on anything yet. Some users may find that darker toasts are near perfect, though.

The "Keep Warm Feature" is a great feature, especially for a bachelor, who lacks the expertise of everything coming together at the same time. With this feature, my toast will always be warm, even if my meal takes an extra 3 minutes to come together. With this same feature, after 3 minutes, there is even an automatic shut off. In the past, when I would forget to remove my bagels from the freezer the night before, but now with my new Hamilton Beach stainless steel toaster, i can take them out of the freezer, drop them into my toaster, with the extra wide slots, turn on the Defrost feature and in minutes I can have a defrosted bagel. perfectly toasted on the cut side, and warmed on the outside. You can also bring pan cakes and waffles to a golden finish using the defrost feature. This amazing toaster also has a toast boost feature for smaller items, like English Muffins, with gives the muffin, bagel, or bread, a higher lift which makes for easy retrieval. The stainless steel design features a digital display, that shows the selected shade at a glance, and easy-push buttons are highlighted with indicator lights. Cleaning the body of the stainless steel toaster is so easy, especially removing the crumbs with the easy slide out crumb tray. In summary, this 2 slice stainless steel toaster, with extra wide slots and all the modern features is a great gift choice and it doesn't empty your wallet.

We love our Hamilton beach toaster with extra wide slots, the fact that I know that we can fit any type of bread even if is wide is great because I know it won’t get stock and it won’t get burn either. The High-Lift toast boost is a plus because the bread can be easily removed from the toaster with no chance of getting burn. This toaster comes with peace of mind thanks to the auto shutoff, no need to turn around after leaving the house to make sure I turned it off. Love the shade Selector feature, the fact that everybody can get exactly what they like is awesome, my kids are very happy every time. I really like how the buttons light up so I know what I pushed in case I forgot or even if the kids push it, the bagel and defrost are extremely helpful, from the freezer to the toaster, what a time saver ! So easy to use even the kids can help in the morning, they love to feel helpful and independent. The little crumb tray is just so easy to clean, and also is very easy to remove from the toaster. We toasted bagels and wheat bread and they both came out perfect and crunchy, just like we like them!! I also love how easy it is to clean it on the outside, the shine of the material is great and it looks good on my countertop. Overall this toaster is a great addition to the kitchen, for sure we will keep on using it and recommend it to friends and family.

Later on it says do not heat toaster pastries such as Pop-Tarts. Also, if you make your own bread, the slots are not long enough to accommodate a full slice. You will need to trim it to get it to fit.

Overall this is a fairly good toaster with a few nice features including: wide slots, high lifter, 1-sided toasting, and defrost mode. Fairly attractive stainless steel finish but it is susceptible to showing fingerprints. I would prefer a 4-slice version.

I also really enjoy the handle that you can lift a little higher to get those small pieces of toast that slip down into the slot. Also, the slide out crumb tray is very convenient. The defrost setting works very well as it defrost both pieces evenly as I tested it on frozen waffles and they both came out nice and crispy. The size of the toaster works perfect as I only had a small space left on my countertop.

It has easy to use controls for Time, Cancel, Bagels and Defrost. I was even able to perfectly toast long slices of bread. I simply decreased the time setting and swapped ends after the first round. The toaster is reasonably sized, attractive and has an easy to pull out and empty crumb tray. It seems well made and there have been no negative features or "behaviors".

Besides making regular toast, it's important to note that puffy bagels and clingy English muffins will pop up perfectly in the extra wide slots. Even better, using the bagel setting, it will toast the cut side [and warm the outside] of bagels, chunky bread or hamburger buns. Frozen items such as waffles are thawed, then toasted without sticking. A good highlight: The toaster automatically turns off at the end of any cycle, even if food were to jam. Other features I like are the slide-out crumb tray and cancel button.

The high lift function on the lever allowed me to remove items without burning my fingers. Loved the Defrost function, which let me toast my frozen bagels in one step without having to thaw first. The Bagel option toasts on one side which gave me bagels (and English muffins) crispy on one side, but still chewy on the bottom. The slots are also wide enough to accommodate even thick bagels (that maybe weren't cut very well). I tested on a variety of items including bakery sourdough bread, frozen blueberry bagels, English muffins and whole wheat seeded grain bread. This toaster handled each beautifully. The lever was very easy to push down and catch. I have had toasters before where I had to push the lever several times to get it to catch. There is also a Cancel button which is handy if you want to stop the toasting process. Cleaning was very easy by just sliding out the crumb tray and wiping it off. I am very happy with this toaster's features and would highly recommend it.

When I inserted the wheat bread I couldn't believe how fast it took to toast and it toasted just perfect. I just toasted a Bagel and that was very very good.
