The Hamilton Beach® Variable Temperature Kettle eliminates guesswork with 6 temperature presets for green, white, oolong, delicate herbal teas and French press coffee. Because it heats water with the touch of a button and reaches precise temperatures, there's no guesswork and you can make your favorite hot beverages with confidence. To hold water at your selected temperature for 30 minutes, press the keep warm button — you'll be able to pour yourself multiple cups without reheating the water. To boil water, simply press the boil preset button and the kettle has 1500 watts of power bring water to a boil fast. Used this for about a year & was happy with it until it started leaking into the electric base. This caused some electrical shorts and we ended up with white corrosive residue all over the outside of the appliance. I guess we got what we paid for here - but be warned & make sure you have surge protectors....

I loved this kettle when I first got it - it can warm water to different temps, holds water at a temp.... BUT it leaks after about a year of use. What a bummer.

This product is dangerous because as soon as you plug it in, it immediately begins to heat up, even without any water inside. The power button does nothing, no standby, doesnt stop it from heating up, nothing. What's the point of the button then? It was also supposed to have a temperature safeguard where it should shut off if it started to warm up without water and that did not work. Again, it immediately heats up, empty, as soon as it is plugged in and the power button does not stop it! I returned the first one and ordered another and same issues. I concluded this was just how the product was developed unfortunately and bought another brand that actually has a power button that works (and does not immediate start when plugged in) so that I can actually plug it in, put water in, and choose a setting before it begins to heat up.

I loved this kettle, the different temperature were great and being able to disconnect from base was nice. But as many people have said it stopped working after a year and a half. I used it just once or twice a day. Won't turn on at all now and it's past the warranty.
