Q: is the bag bpa free?

submitted by user - 9 years ago

  • A: I read all the fine print on the box hoping I could find that the bags are bpa free, I did not find bpa free. I find the bags very useful and handy. I do not cook or warm in the bag. I store food only. I love the bags.

Q: Will these hold fluids. Need to make some extra large ice packs.

submitted by The helpful one - 1 year ago

  • A: Hefty® Jumbo Slider Storage Bags are not designed to hold liquids long-term, as they may leak under pressure or when frozen. For homemade ice packs, we recommend double-bagging or using Hefty® Freezer Bags instead — they’re made to handle colder temps and moisture better.

submitted by Cinderella - 1 year ago

    Quality has declined significantly.

They do not seal well; the zip area separates right away. A waste. I have been buying these for over 10 years but they are terrible now along the zipper area. I will not buy this brand anymore because too many end up in the trash and don’t even seal properly when you are careful and put almost nothing in them.

Love the slider zipper. With other brands that don’t have a zipper, the lock isn’t secure so they leak.

    Poor quality

50% of them rip at the zipper on first use. I try to use them to pack clothes for travel, and I lose any benefit when they rip since the compression is gone, and clothes start pouring out the opening.

    Great size for packing clothes

Great for packing clothes for a trip. You can squeeze out the air to compact them. I can pack an outfit in each one. I reuse them since only clean clothes go in them. They’re very durable.

    Poor quality

I don't know how this has such a high rating. If I put in anything big enough to stretch the top even a little, the zip breaks. Also, the plastic zip thing just slid off one of them. Maybe hefty changed the construction recently to cut on costs. But these suck.

    Horrible Quality

These bags are trash! They rip right beneath the zipper seam and very easily. The capacity is great but the quality is very poor.
