  • A: Hi Chris, Your i3+ is fully compatible with Google for voice commands! i3+ does not include the Imprint® Smart Mapping - Targeted Area Cleaning feature. You may ask Google to have Roomba begin a cleaning mission. But i3+ is not equipped for targeted areas like other models such as j7 and s9.

    Had this product for over a year. It got stuck easily and didn't always clean everywhere. A few weeks ago one of the charging ports on the base melted, causing it not to reach the robot to recharge. After contacting with customer service they sent me a different model base and a newer bin for robot. After installing each, it work decent for a few days then started having problems. It wouldn't clean everywhere, say the bin is full when there's hardly any dirt in it, wouldn't dispose the dirt into the base. I don't think there's anything in the bag on the new base. The robot won't even recognize that the original bin is attached. Customer service recommended a factory reset, which only made things worse. They also don't believe me when I said that they sent a new bin for the robot along with the new base. The robot hasn't left its base in about a week now. Would never recommend any of these products to anyone.

    It does a good job vacuuming but not mopping. It does seem lost and goes over certain areas over and over and then skips areas all together. This could be a mapping issue and may take time to perfect. As far as mopping goes, it only puts down water, it doesn't suck it back up, so you really aren't getting a good cleaning, it's just moving water around with the dirty sponge. I am going to return it for one that just vacuums since I paid about $100 more for it to do both. I am very impressed with the self emptying feature and will definitely get that again!

    Broke right after warranty- no options from iRobot

    It's pretty expensive for a device that only last about a year or so. I paid $600+ for a Braava m6 mopping machine and an i3 robot vacuum . And both broke right after that one year period when the warranty expired. The i3 Robot vaccum just died one day, wouldn't respond at all. Customer Service walked me through instructions to reset the battery (which didn't work off course), before telling me I need to send it for repair which would cost $299+shipping, which was stupid. This repair price was more than what a lot of nice more powerful and self-emptying machines would cost now a days. I just threw it into Trash. Would never buy from iRobot again.

    It stopped connecting to the base after less than 2 years. Call Roomba and they said it will cost $250 to have it fixed since the warranty ran out.

    Now is this the PERFECT robot like Rosie from the Jetsons? NO. It’s a bit loud and bumps into things. Sometimes it gets stuck. But I had realistic expectations when buying it. I knew I would still need to vacuum since there are stairs in the house. This is a maintenance cleaning device which is used to lessen the burden of cleaning. It is not a replacement for never sweeping and vacuuming again. If you understand that then you will love this robot for the time it saves you. If you are disappointed with this robot because you thought you would never have to vacuum again, then you should hire a maid. Maybe in a few years there will be a robot that can open and close doors, vacuum the stairs, clean behind the fridge - but for now I’m thankful for the hours it saves me.

    I have spent more time trying to get the robot to work than it has vaccuming. This robot constantly has error codes and will not run. After less than a year, it is now unable to dock on the base correctly and will not charge. Biggest waste of money I have ever spent. Do not buy. Sad part is, when it is working or is not stuck, it cleans great.

    Dont waste your time or money

    Not my first Roomba, but absolutely my last. There are constant problems and error messages, docking is at enough of an angle so half the times it’s slipped just far enough off to not charge. After 18 months it has stopped working all together, multiple reboots and a factory reset as advised still won’t fix. Never again.

    iRobot barely lasted a year. Maintained well and changed parts regularly. App does not work all the time and it is so frustrating. It would only connect sometimes and work appropriately. Went through trouble shooting multiple times and would work once and then the connection would stop again. Let alone, it could not map my open floorplan right. Don’t buy. Too expensive of a vacuum to not be working.

    This product worked great until it didn't. It has a 1 year warranty. At 16 months the cliff sensors stopped working and prevents it from working at all. Their customer service response was just "sorry. You have to buy a new one. There are no replacement parts for the sensor". I still have my original roomba from the early 2000's that is working fine with ongoing maintenance. Gave it to my sister when I decided to "upgrade" and get a quieter version. So now my basically brand new roomba is not working. It was not overused. The app says the original filter still has 28 hours left, the original edge brush 132 hours left and original brush 288 hours.

    Maybe I got a lemon, but this thing simply does not work consistently. It will clean the mapped area, one time and the next time I use it it cleans one or two rooms and cleans them one to two times. The app is also not user-friendly. I am told to go to product settings to help me connect to the Internet. Where the…. is product settings? There are other topics that I need to be able to access, and I cannot find them.

    Had a previous model that didn't self-empty and am so disappointed with my new purchase. The vacume gets "stuck" at least 65% of runs, and does not pick up visible dirt. I wish I hadn't thrown away the box because I would have returned.

    Good robot! It is very good at being accurate with its vacuuming and returning home. It is good for light duty vacuuming. The bag in the home station should be reusable but is not.

    Not the Roomba quality I was expecting

    I have owned a Roomba for over 15 years. A little over a year ago, now, I got this i3+EVO, after, I learned that the vacuums can map and empty its bin automatically. However, I quickly started regretting my purchase. Over the first 6 months, I noticed this thing getting quirky. It wouldn't always vacuum according to the mapped areas. I would redo the mapping run, because it would skip the bathroom 1/2 the time. I have redone the mapping run several times. Now, it won't even map it. It seems to get dumber with every run. It doesn't do a good job on area rugs. We have a sweet old Aussie. The i3 just collects what little hair it picks up and deposits it in tufts along the edge of the rug. One time, I had it vacuum while we were gone. We came home to it parked under the dining room table, dead. The roller tip had melted itself to the housing. I contacted irobot about this, because I hadn't even had it a year. They told me that they don't warranty any replaceable parts, but they would send me a housing with rollers complimentary, this one time. irobot makes good products, but stay clear of this model.

    It has always gotten stuck on my rug or stuck by my chair. I can never schedule a cleaning and wake up and everything is vacuumed. It gets stuck and I have to rescue it. The only thing I like is the self emptying.

    We have had problems with our iRobot for at least three months. We have played the machine several times we've gotten a new battery. We've talked to your excellent help group at least five times. When do you offer an exchange for a new iRobot or my money back. I loved it when it worked.
