A: Hello Mel, Yes, the Roomba 205 DustCompactor features the "Recharge and Resume" function, meaning it will automatically return to its charging dock when the battery is low, and then resume cleaning from where it left off once sufficiently charged.

A: Hello Ja, great question! The Roomba 205 utilizes the unique Dual Multi-Surface Rubber Brushes don't get tangled with pet hair. Brushes adjust and flex to stay in constant contact with carpets and hard floors. Instead of bristles that bend and can miss lots of dirt, our unique flexible rubber brushes hug different floor surfaces, staying in close contact with wood, and carpets, to help thoroughly clean your floors. One brush loosens and agitates dirt, and the other moves in the opposite direction to extract and pull it in.

A: Hello Mirza, The maximum height of a threshold that all Roomba models can transition over, when performing a cleaning cycle, is ⅝ in (1.6 cm), so if the threshold is higher than that the robot will not be able to climb up. Otherwise, our robots are suitable for cleaning rugs.

Do not buy Roomba 205 dustcompactor
I bought in May 2025 and had problems with it not starting or reconnecting it to WiFi. I had to call technical for help to get it to work. Now it supposed to update but not working. Called customer support and they tried and told me to let it update. Well for a hour no success and retried it and still the same. I tried to call support but it’s a half hour wait to get anyone to help. Do not buy this product bc other people have complained about it.

Great Everyday Vacuuming and Features, with Minor
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Roomba 205 DustCompactor is an efficient everyday vacuum and its built-in compactor really reduces how often I need to empty it. It does a great job picking up all kinds of debris and generally navigates rooms well. However, the mapping can be a bit inconsistent, and it tends to bump into things more often than expected, though it’s gentle and not a major issue. For best results, the floor should be clear, as clutter can confuse its navigation. Despite those small quirks, it’s made my cleaning routine much easier and is definitely worth having.

Effortless, Efficient Cleaning with Minimal Mainte
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This robot vacuum has made cleaning so much easier for me, especially with its dust compacting feature that lets it hold dirt for weeks before I need to empty it, which really cuts down on maintenance. The cleaning performance is impressive, picking up dust, pet hair, and daily messes really well, and I like being able to schedule it or send it to clean specific rooms using the app. The battery life is strong, usually lasting long enough to clean my whole place before it needs to recharge, and it always finds its way back to the dock. The noise level is a bit louder when it’s compacting the dust, but otherwise it’s quieter than a regular vacuum and doesn’t bother me much. It’s very efficient, mapping my home quickly and cleaning in neat rows, though it can get stuck if there’s a lot of clutter, so I make sure to tidy up first. Overall, maintenance is simple, the app is easy to use, and this robot vacuum has made keeping my floors clean almost effortless-a really helpful addition to my home.

Easy application

The installation took me less than 5 minutes, and another 5 minutes for downloading the app and connecting it to the device—it’s pretty easy too. I love the feature where the device learns the “map” of your place, letting you set up a cleaning routine while you’re away or even when you’re sleeping. This is definitely a lazy girl’s favorite.

Its a little louder than other robot vacuums I've tried previously but not obnoxiously loud. Mapped my house well. I think the biggest issue is that sometimes knocks over the docking station and then can't connect to charge. I think putting something with a little grip under the charger would easily solve this problem though.

However, their hair is nothing for this little vacuum, we have lovingly called Roxanne! She is able to clean the entire main part of the house before recharging and the capacity of the vacuum makes maintenance a breeze! Full disclosure: the first unit’s battery wouldn’t work. However, a short call to Roomba and they sent out a new unit.
