Sadly, my system could not tolerate the effects of the chicory coffee. It acted as a laxative for me. I had to just toss it as I could not continue to use it.

Any of the Teeccino beverages are a great alternative to caffinated coffee. I buy several flavors and enjoy them all.

Chicory Herbal 'coffee' is the worst-tasting drink I have ever had. I even tried it with Coffee Mate yet I disliked it. I have also bought and tried the other coffee substitutes that Swanson sells and they taste much better and closer to a coffee substitute. Don't waste your money on Chicory Herbal coffee. I wish for this product there was a choice of 0 for rating.

I make six cups of Java Teccinno every morning along with regular coffee in another pot for my husband. I have always been a big coffee drinker and I like my coffee black and strong. I now drink 1/2 Java and 1/2 coffee in each cup I drink. It gives me a wonderful taste and cuts down some of the caffeine without loosing flavor for me.

This is not coffee and doesn't taste like coffee, but a mixture of half java teeccino and half of your favorite regular coffee (flavored or unflavored) cuts your caffeine intake while making a respectable alternative...and by gradually lowering the amount of coffee and increasing the amount of teeccino, you'll soon be caffeine free. Having decaffeinated myself more than 10 years ago, I put a rounded 1/2 tablespoon of this product and a rounded 1/2 tablespoon of any decaf coffee into a permanent filter made for my Keurig, pop the filter into place, and press the 10-ounce-cup button. In practically no time I have a delicious hot brew -- and I don't miss the caffeine at all. I've been mixing the various teeccino flavors with unflavored decaf coffee and LOVE the results I've been getting, especially the mocha mixture. To come up with your own yummy hot drinks, just start experimenting with flavor mixing. Now, if you're a dyed-in-the-wool caffeine addict, this is not for you -- unless you really want to kick the habit -- but if you're looking for a coffee substitute, your search just ended.

I was hesitant to try this, but the acid issue in my diet has forced me to make some changes over the past year. I've tried herbal coffee substitutes in the past, usually made from dandelions or other roots, and did not really love the taste/sensation of those products The best way I can describe this product: It's like a cup of really SMOOTH coffee. The flavor is great. It's robust and rich without any bitterness or acidity. And since it's decaf, I can drink as much as I want all day long! I am drinking my first cup of the "Java" flavor. I bought it without reading the ingredients because the other reviews were so great. But this morning, when I finally went to brew a cup, I noticed chicory and carob in the ingredients list. They are not ingredients I typically enjoy. But I was already in the process of making it, so I kept going. To be honest, I thought I would take a tiny sip and dump it down the drain or, at best, maybe cut it with decaf coffee until I could get used to it. But neither of those things happened because the flavor is great. I prepared it just like I would a cup of coffee, except I kept tasting it as I added a little bit of cream and sugar. I ended up using so much less cream and sugar than I usually do, because the flavor of the brew is already so nice. I'm totally sold! This is a great substitute for coffee. I will definitely be buying more and trying the other flavors. Thanks for carrying this line Swanson!

I mix mine with reg. coffee... cuts the caffeine. This needs to be measured carefully, it is much stronger than regular coffee. Also Amazon sells this for $7.06 per pack if you by a bundle of 3 packs. I always order 3 or more anyway so, this makes it cheaper to buy through Amazon. I love Swanson, but when you have to save money, it is a good idea to shop around.

This tastes just like a sweet, smooth cup of coffee. The Java flavor is my favorite. It has no caffeine and no acids. It's a pure, natural product. I think it's grain-free. I've tried all the coffee substitutes and this is the best. There might be a more convenient way to sell them. You basically have to brew this like coffee. I wonder if they I could get an instant version. I've tried a sort of tea bag version of one of the flavors, and I didn't like that particular flavor.

I developed an ulcer and had to stop drinking coffee. Groan! A friend told me about Teeccino herbal coffee. I really like the flavor and the fact that it's made with natural ingredients. It's not regular coffee, but I'm sure enjoying this healthy option. I've been drinking it for about 5 weeks and now add a third of regular coffee to the mix. It's working nicely for me.

My husband cannot have caffeine. He will gladly brew himself a cup of this as his replacement.
