JBL Authentics 200 Wireless Bluetooth Speaker (Black/Gold)

I recently bought the JBL Authentics 200 and I’m genuinely blown away by it. The biggest thing for me is how well it fills a large space. This isn’t just “loud near the speaker” sound – the bass and presence carry across the whole room. I listen to a lot of hip-hop, R&B, reggae and house, and the low-end is deep, punchy and controlled, without being boomy or muddy. What really impressed me is how good it sounds at sensible volumes. You don’t need to crank it for it to feel full and satisfying, which makes it perfect for a kitchen or open-plan space. Compared to smaller Bluetooth speakers I’ve owned (which are loud but don’t project), this feels like a completely different class. Setup was painless, AirPlay works flawlessly with Apple Music, and the build quality feels premium. It looks great on a countertop and feels like it’s been designed to actually live in a home, not just be moved around occasionally. Honestly, this is one of those purchases where you press play and immediately think: “Yep — this is exactly what I wanted.” Highly recommended if you want proper room-filling sound without the hassle of a full hi-fi system.

We are so happy and impressed with this little speaker. Not many companies are making Google Assistant devices, and I'm glad this is. Since our house has Gemini, this speaker does too. It also supports Tidal Audio, which wasn't advertised anywhere. I use Tidal and my wife uses Spotify. It would be nice if the JBL app let us 'share' access, instead of sharing the same password, but other than that it's been great. I have the app on my phone and we set the 'heart' button to play forest sounds. Most importantly, it sounds great! But it's so compact.

This speaker is exactly what I have been waiting for. Been looking for a bit but never really cared much for a portable speaker but was tempted to buy one anyway because of the great sound quality of JBL speakers. The Authentics 200 is an amazing speaker. Great sound and I love the retro look. I was so impressed with this speaker that I bought another and linked them together. Totally awesome.

Loving the speaking with all favorite music being played

JBL Authentics 500 and 200 speakers let's start with positive they look absolutely awesome and the sound is absolutely awesome now the negative linking them is absolutely awesome nightmare with Goole Home ie casting also Spotify Goole home keeps saying speakers are offline which is crazy as they are connected on the app so the voice assistance doesn't work. I do not recommend this at all. It's a great shame. They should have tested this cropley. Before sending them out to the public, it's a great shame as the speakers are absolutely beautiful to look at. Let's hopefully they sort this problem out as soon as possible.

The speaker worked great when I first bought it. Unfortunately, for the past couple of months Google Assistant has stopped working for several hours each day, which makes the speaker practically unusable for its intended purpose.

Excellent built quality, easy to setup and it sounds great. An improvement would be if JBL could merge the JBL one and JBL portable Apps.

I purchased my JBL authentic 200 smart speaker nearly 4 months ago. I am very happy with my purchase sound quality is great. I’m happy that there is both Google Assistant and Alexa built into the speaker. This is the only speaker that I’m aware of that has both options built into it. The build quality is excellent. I also like the fact that there is an ethernet port on the back of the speaker, I always prefer this option over using Wi-Fi. This is also a very attractive speaker. JBL really put a lot of time and effort into designing this speaker. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a Bluetooth speaker with a lot of The speaker is well worth the money in my opinion. I have owned many different Bluetooth speakers over the years with the Google Assistant built into them. This speaker is by far the most superior speaker I’ve owned.

Gorgeous sweet detailed sound at any volume level. Crank it up to high volume and it fills the room with no distortion. Easy to connect and operate.

It’s incredible at producing loud, high-quality sound, but the highs are a bit muddy, and its aesthetics are top-notch. However, there are a few areas for improvement. Firstly, the lack of expandability is a bit disappointing. For instance, there’s no pre-out, so you can’t connect additional speakers. While this might not matter to most people, having that option would be a nice touch. Secondly, I wish there were a manual standby mode button on the speaker itself. It would be much more convenient to press a button to put the speaker into standby mode and disconnect it from Bluetooth, rather than relying solely on the connected device. Lastly, while this doesn’t impact the speaker’s performance, I think the volume, bass, and treble knobs could use a slight design improvement. It would look more polished and premium if the lights on the knobs moved smoothly rather than in visible steps when adjusting them. Despite these minor issues, this is an outstanding speaker that delivers amazing sound and style. Highly recommended for the average person who doesn't want to expand it at all!

Bought it...turned out to be average compared to its price ..no innovative upgrades

We have this for a while now and we loved. The sound is amazing, speaker seats on 8 small rubbers 2 each corner, they are helping to cancel vibration so compare to other speaker you don’t need to look space with nothing close to it if you want to use it with high volume bass. Retro design is probably not for everyone but for our place is fantastic we like antics and with this you have mix of technology fitted in to retro box. Of course is smart speaker so you can use Alexa, google and all you actually needs from speaker. Great job JBL

I received this to test and review from #Reviewclub this is the smaller model of the JBL AUTHENTICS has similar features to the other models can be used through WiFi, JBL 1 app and Bluetooth also two voice assistants that supports Amazon Alexa and Google it also has autotune feature that adapts to any room.The sound is fantastic as with all JBL products. I love JBL products as they always live up to my expectations if not more and their products are always of the highest quality. I would highly recommend this product to anyone considering it.

This is the best Bluetooth speaker I have ever had. For comparison, it sounds better than my Sonos which is a high-quality unit. The bass is awesome, and it extends pretty far from the unit itself. I can't say enough good about this unit. Easy on the eyes as well!

I bought this product a month ago and have returned it as it will not voice match to more than one person in google assistant - so if it's set up under my partners account and I asked what the weather was doing tomorrow it would say voice match not set up (but a second voice match could not be set up). We tried resetting a number of numbers with the same outcome. Would have been very happy with the product if it could voice match to more than one person, however, since it doesn't we will be buying a different product.

I’ve had the pleasure of using the Authentics 200 for a few weeks now, and I didn’t know you could get this quality of sound on a budget. JBL have hit the nail on the head with this masterpiece, the looks are just perfect, and the sound is even better. This speaker is so easy to use, with one touch Bluetooth connection, set up was incredibly quick and the JBL app is another bonus. I use my speaker connected with Alexa, and it works perfectly, however the microphone i would perhaps like to be a little more sensitive, The bass and treble buttons are a touch of class, making setting EQ super easy, and can be adgusted remotely via the JBL app too! I didn’t realise what I have been missing In my music until now. A must have for anyone even slightly in to their sounds.

Let's start with the price. Yes it seems a bit steep for a speaker but this is not only a speaker but a fantastic addition to any home. The modern sleek design compliments anywhere you place it. The ability to add or remove bass and treble ensures you have an enjoyable experience. Setting up the product was a little confusing for me at first but once done it was actually easy (I struggle with some technology) I connected my Alexa and the sound was so crisp and clear. The speaker was bigger then I expected but has been a very welcome addition to our house. I highly recommend this product and would advise anyone to get one. All I can say is you get what you pay for in such a incredible way!
