Rice Krispies have long been a beloved choice for both breakfast and homemade treats, offering versatility and nostalgia. Many guests appreciate the family size packaging for its value and the delightful snap, crackle, and pop that enhances the eating experience. However, recent reviews indicate concerns about changes in texture and quality, with some guests reporting hard bits that could potentially damage teeth. Despite these issues, Rice Krispies remain a cherished ingredient for making classic treats.

Worst Recipe Ever!

What did you do to my cereal?!? I’ve eaten Cocoa Krispies for YEARS, i.e. lunch, dinner etc. I’m in my 50’s, so I’m a longtime indulger. I’ve tolerated my recipe changes over the years for this cereal but this version is the WORSE! Within seconds, the cereal turns to MUSH! It’s just AWEFUL. I’ve delayed purchases to see if Kellogg’s realize what colossal mistake was made to the recipe. I’ve had resort to purchasing versions of the cereal that expire in November or December, 2025. If the expiration date states 2026, it’s the new recipe. Luckily, I’m able to find the old version in the single breakfast cup servings. In a nutshell, CHANGE THE RECIPE BACK!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Gosh, these taste exactly the same as they did when I was a kid! You still get the snap, crackle, pop sounds when you pour milk over a bowl of Kellogg’s Rice Krispies Cereal. The only reason that they get 4/5 stars is that they still haven’t figured a way to keep the cereal from getting soggy so quickly. I do love the mild flavor of Rice Krispies as I’m not a fan of sugary cereals. I also made Rice Krispies treats with my kids using the box I received for my review and they were fabulous, just as I remembered as a kid. My kids loved putting sprinkles on top and I may have eaten an extra square when no one was looking!
Tasty and lightly sweet

The best thing they are not too sweet and when milk is added get mixed well and i can pair it with strawberries, blueberries and bananas. Sometimes they like to eat it as is and i can say its healthy breakfast for them.

Is it cereal? Yes. It is chocolately? Somewhat. Is it Kellogg's Cocoa Krispies?? NO WAY!! This has such an odd flavor- it's darker in color but tastes nothing like chocolate and nothing like the Kellogg's Cocoa Krispies I grew up loving. I used to buy them but since the recipe changed- I really can't bring myself to eat them. I tried but I did not enjoy them and my husband wouldn't even eat them after the first taste. Please bring back the original recipe!! These taste like chocolate flavored cardboard :(

So if you love chocolate and the sound of your cereal popping then you need to get this. At my place there’s always some cocoa krispies lol

First yall got rid of the purple box rice crispie cereal, now yall have gone and changed the recipe for cocoa crispies to where it is IDENTICAL to cocoa pebbles. I hate it. Haven’t seen a single good review about it either. I was so appalled that I had to come write a review.

The one thing in life that used to bring me comfort no longer exists. I thought I was being finicky or got a bad batch when I decided to ask Google why my favorite cereal tastes funny. It replied: Yes, Kellogg's has reformulated Cocoa Krispies and removed the real semi-sweet chocolate that was in the cereal for 65 years. Instead, the new recipe now contains "artificial flavor". Many consumers have expressed dissatisfaction with the change, finding the new version less chocolatey and tasting different. I am one of them. After 65 years? Ew.
It could be better if it wasn't this

They're pretty artificial and meh-tasting. I think that most other real reviewers would agree. Unfortunately, Target's review space has been taken over by 5-star-loving influenster bots. Cool.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product as complementary for an honest review. To be honest, this is ok cereal. I saw few ingredients that I chose not to feed my family members. Taste is ok but it leaves after taste in your mouth. I would rather spend ew extra money and buy organic chocolate cereal.

I recently had Rice Krispies (I don't usually eat cereal) using an older box that was sealed over a new one the wife had just bought. I enjoyed them for a few days and decided to open the new box! These are like chalk and cheese difference taste texture and what seems like a different look as well. 100% sure they have changed several things or 1 thing that has created several changes. They are like eating small pieces of cardboard in texture even after soaking in milk a while they hold up structure as previously they would go soft and gooey... I should have done an ingredient check box to box but the box wash thrown away before I realised. I have thrown the rest away as I didn't enjoy them at all. It will be money driven i'm sure as there is no health benefits in a cereal breakfast other than what they tell you (which is nonsense) so I shall go back to my protein breakfasts.. Why mess with something that isn't broken?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son is a very picky kid when it comes to food, but he LOVES this cereal! The packaging being close to the original Rice Krispies box helps him recognize it as related to,his favorite treat-,Rice Krispy Treats. The small cereal size is perfect for hi, and he loves the way the cereal makes his milk chocolate milk! The content is still very high in sugar, so he doesn’t have it every day.
