They sent me a new one that is just as bad. i would not recommend.

Toast never popped up, so please be mindful if you are purchasing this toaster. Walked away for a few minutes and the house was filled with smoke. We own several kitchenaid appliances-so this was disappointing and concerning to say the least. It appears my mother-in-law has a different kitchenaid toaster and she says she has to sometimes release the toast because it burns her bagel. Hopefully no one else has this issue.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We’re currently on our third version of this toaster thanks to KitchenAid’s excellent warranty but this toaster has a design flaw. It will only toast one side of the bread. The side of the bread closest to the outside edge of the toaster will not toast. It can be either the right or left side. Do not get this toaster. We’ve decided to give up on it.

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) It is an average toaster that looks pretty good, but only if you keep it clean (as with other stainless items). The toaster I did purchase for the looks, so that is good although I didn't think it would be so hard to keep it clean (but that is on me). The toast quality itself is underwhelming to be honest as it is not easy. The settings seem a bit overpowered where 2 is probably what most people want, and 3 is right before burnt. Not sure what happens if you max it out. The lever is as cheap as any other cheaper toaster. Doesn't stay down the first time occasionally. There are no features really other than cancel/bagel which is fine. Overall i'm just really underwhelmed with the toast quality as I expected it to be a bit more even.

Reason is that it's the only toaster I have owned that it's toasts both side at different temperatures. One side is too dark, other side too light. If I put a slice of white bread in and move it past the lowest setting 1 it's burnt on one side. Only usable on setting #1, the rest are worthless. Seriously considering buying another brand and using this one only for an emergency.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Beautiful appliance but not acceptable results so far. The toast is inconsistent. It does not brown the bread evenly on both sides. The bagel setting is excellent. I don't know if this toaster is stuck on the bagel setting because the outside of the bread hardly toasts at all while the inside of the bread is dark or nearly burnt. It doesn't matter whether I toast one slice of bread or two. The results are the same.

This toaster toasts pretty well for me and the extra wide slots are nice for bagels and odd size bread. HOWEVER- THERE IS A VERY LOUD !BEEP! when done toasting that wakes my whole house up and gives me a panic attack. I mean this thig is LOUD. whoever designed that feature needs to re-evaluate their career. I'm really disappointed.

Anyhow this new KitchenAid toaster is wonderful. Clean design, love that this one has an early release button for those times I may miscalculate how toasted I want my bread,bagel, or pop tart. I’ve used it for about a month now and no issues or complaints and it matches the rest of my KitchenAid appliances.
