I just recently broke the mixing bowl on my 25 year old Oster mixer. After telling my kids that I couldn’t find a bowl for my ancient mixer, they decided it was time to upgrade me to a Kitchenaid Mixer. I love it and would eventually like to add a grinder attachment to it.

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I have been making sourdough recipes and the kneading was a lot of work so I invested in the stand mixer. I expected to be able to let the machine do its thing while I clean up the area but the arm hops and then the dough hook is not properly aligned. I have checked that everything is tightened properly but I have to hold down the arm for it to function properly. The pin that goes through the arm also keeps coming out. I have halved my recipes and it still happens. I have it now and it was on sale when I bought it so the sale was final. I dreamed about getting one for so many years and now I feel kind of disappointed but it is better than kneading the dough by hand.
