Confused on past reviews saying its as hard as a rock! I got the teal color and found mine in-store in the plastic baggy packaging and the pointy end has one side that is a slanted flat edge--maybe I got the newer version?! But mine is super squishy and soft--this sponge is the kind that will sheer out your foundation when wet, which is expected. This sponge likes to really soak up water so I would recommend ringing it out on a towel or paper towel not just with your hands. I enjoy it but it'd be nice if it was $1 less :)

I’ll have to start out with saying that when it comes to beauty blenders and makeup in general, I am VERY picky. I am a bit older and my fine lines cannot afford having a blender that will apply my makeup sloppy. I purchased this sponge one day on a whim at Target. When you wet this sponge at first it doubles in size. It is very soft. It is more on a memory foam soft, not a porous foam soft. It, however, applied my makeup like a dream. I’ve used this sponge for a while and then went back to the the Real Techniques sponge and I just couldn’t do it! I went back to Target and purchased two more and here recently I purchase two more to stock up. I love the sponge. I’ve seen some very negative reviews. You have to remember that with every sponge out there, the first use or two, you will have to use a bit more foundation because it will soak up some of it. After you’ve used it a couple of times, you’re good to go.

I’ve used the beauty blender, the RT sponge, an Ulta brand sponge, and the eco tools green sponge. I really like this one. The beauty blender is absolutely nothing special and is not worth $20. Many others do the same thing and are better and cheaper. I saw reviews that this target sponge was hard, had a bad smell, and absorbed too much product. Mine is soft and pounces fine. Mine doesn’t have any odor. And yes, sponges absorb liquid. Duh. Any makeup sponge you use will do that. I like this sponge and would def repurchase.

I was in a pinch and needed a sponge applicator, so I decided to go for this due to the price. After a few months, it has gotten much softer but the application is still bad. It definitely removes makeup more than it applies.

If you like applying your makeup with a rock, this is for you. It is the hardest beauty sponge I've ever tried. Doesn't soak up water or get any bigger/softer when wet either. Won't be buying this again.

When I found this beauty blender I was shocked at the price. I found it on clearance for 2.99. Super hard and doesn't expand.

Nothing’s worse than having your makeup half way done and ruining everything when it comes to applying foundation and having to wash everything off.. yeah, it’s that bad... You might as well use a rubber ball to apply foundation to your face. This sponge is rock solid even after saturating in water. You can barely squeeze the water out because it’s so dense it doesn’t actually soak anything up. This “sponge” just glides across the face and smears the foundation along with it. I usually buy the Real Techniques brand but my store was out of stock and I figured I’d give this one a try. Big mistake and complete waste of $4.99.

The blender was incredibly hard and was did not blend evenly across the face.

This sponge is way too dense, you'll feel like you're punching yourself in the face while blending. And the smell is awful! When I got it wet it emit this strong odor that stays on your hands after washing both sponge and hands. Don't waste your money or time with this!

Although this sponge is very firm, it does the job. I have tried many beauty blenders, and this is the best one yet. My makeup has never looked more natural. The thing I love best is that the sponge does not absorb all the makeup, so I don't have to waste a bunch of makeup to get the even, natural look I'm going for.

It was too hard to use even when I got it wet. It didn't do that good of a job putting on foundation it just spread it around very unevenly.

This thing is so hard. I’m not sure if it’s supposed to soften over time, but it puts such a thin layer of foundation on because it’s just too dense to do anything. It soaks and spreads oddly. Even while wet. Sad bonus: it’s good for taking off your make up lol if you get some mascara smudge or something.
