Christian Psychological Thriller
I became a fan of Nancy Mehl after reading her Kaely Quinn Profiler series and this new book has certainly boosted my admiration for her writing skills. Night Fall is a thrilling, pulse-altering story that features a deranged person who believes that he is destined to fulfill a prophecy, and a chilling look at the difference between true religion and cults. It also spotlights the psychological scars that victims of abuse can carry all of their lives. From the very beginning, the fascinating characters and gripping plot captured my attention and they wouldn't let go. There are also many thought-provoking references to God and His Word, as opposed to the Circle and The Book. The cult that is a big part of this story is named the Circle and its members consider The Book to be their ultimate source of truth. FBI agent and behavioral analyst Alex Donovan was subjected to The Book as a young person and it has affected her deeply. Is she the only person who can unravel the clues in time to prevent death and destruction? Will her determination to escape the traumas of her past prevent Alex from finding the peace that only comes through knowing the one true God? This is the first book in The Quantico Files series and I'm anxious to see what's waiting in the books that follow. Night Fall is a psychological drama filled with danger, adventure, and surprising twists, along with a very strong faith message. I recommend it to all who enjoy Christian suspense novels. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher. There was no obligation for a favorable review and I am voluntarily sharing my thoughts.

New Series
I am so excited that the author has started a new series. She is one of my go to authors for intrigue and suspense stories. This book delivers a heart pounding story that starts off with terrifying action. I felt my skin crawl as I began the book and realized I would not be able to put the book down until I finished it. The author never disappoints me as she has a gift for writing intense stories that has a message of faith firmly planted in the story. I was intrigued by the story that focused on a cult that believes in everything that goes against Christianity. It delves into a world that is delusional and has followers that are deceived. I could visualize the entire story as the author uses her gift of storytelling. Alex is my new favorite hero as she faces her past in a race to capture the person who wants to unleash a deadly virus. It is reminiscent of what the world faced recently with COVID 19. How scary it is to think that someone is so sinister to want to destroy others? Alex must face her biggest fear as she unravels the mystery of who the unsub is. I liked the reference to Criminal Minds as this book reminds me of that show. The FBI has their hands full trying to keep one step ahead of the person who must fulfill his prophecy. I thought The Book the author referred to in the story was brilliant. Her imagination is incredible as The Book becomes the focal point of the investigation. The author gives us curve balls in the story and shocked me with the ending. I am happy to know that there will be a second book coming in this series. I received a copy of this book from the author and Bethany House. The review is my own opinion.

Spellbinding Suspense!
Haunting. Intense. Chilling. And quite intriguing, describes Nancy Mehl's unparalleled new suspense, Night Fall! At first I really didn't care much for heroine, Alex Donovan, to be quite frank. Until I got to know her—a young lady who clawed her way out of a horrendous past to become a member of the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit. A young lady who appears as tough as nails, but must fight to override her anxiety and fears when her past collides with the present. I grew to admire her a great deal in spite of her aloofness at times. I really liked kind-hearted Logan Hart, as he partners with her to find the Train Man, a psychopathic serial killer who is somehow linked to Alex's past. And what a storyline! I was a total train wreck at the conclusion of this fast-paced, exhilarating novel and am determined never to ride Amtrak again! lol Ms. Mehl skillfully deals with tough issues such as OCD, PTSD, and anxiety attacks. Her knowledge and research of the FBI and its tactics—unsurpassable and brilliant. If you're looking for a toe-curling romance you won't find but just a little spark of attraction, but I'm hoping it ignites into a full-blown romantic flame by the end of this series! *I was given a complimentary copy of this novel by Bethany House. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own and I received no monetary compensation for this review.*

Fast paced FBI BAU suspense
Night Fall was on my most anticipated list for this year. It met all my expectations for a Nancy Mehl novel, meaning it is fantastic. It started differently than most suspense stories because we know from the beginning who the suspect is. But don’t let that fool you. There are plenty of twists, turns and surprises. Any fan of Criminal Minds will enjoy Night Fall. Highly recommend! I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.
