What possible reason could you have had to change one of the best cereals ever made. A staple in our cupboard for years. One box of this new version is enough for our family. Why !!!!

This used to be my favorite cereal. The cereal 'reintroduced' after the recall is completely different. The squares are smaller for certain, but I can't put my finger on the actual flavor change. All I know is that I won't buy any more until they go back to the original.

New formula is no good. I like to snack on them dry and these have a different texture and no flavor. Very disappointing.

What a disappointment. My favorite cereal before the recall. Would buy boxes and boxes and more boxes regardless of cost. The new formula is terrible - I wouldn’t get it even if if we’re free. Not sure why Quaker messed with a recipe that was so well loved.

The new recipe does not taste as good, does not have the original crunch, and gets soggy faster. It is very disappointing. Please bring back the original recipe we knew and loved.
Sad to say it’s not the same

So disappointed. I could tell something was different the minute I put it in the bowl. No longer has the crunch I loved, got soggy quickly—I used to love that it stayed crispy even with a lot of milk. I felt like I was eating a bowl of Cheerios

Completely different formula since recall last year. The taste is just bland, the texture is no longer similar to being shredded like a mini wheat but now like an oat puff of some sort. I had to return the second box I bought because I was completely turned off. Would no longer recommend buying.

I was excited to finally find these available again after the Salmonella recall. The box is the same, including the photo. But the contents are clearly different and do not match the photo anymore. Used to love these, but the new recipe is not good. I’m either going to try to return my open box or throw it in the trash…
NOT the Same!!!

This is nothing like the cereal was before the E. coli outbreak. It is now made in Canada and tastes very bland and gets soggy fast, which is nothing like the original. Before you buy, look to see where it's made. If it's Canada, it's probably the inferior product. I was so glad to see it available again that I bought 2 boxes. Big mistake! Hopefully Quaker eventually corrects this.
My recipe is awful!

After months of being off the shelves, they returned and I was so excited only to find they changed the recipe. They used to be dense and crispy with a hearty crunch. Now they are more fluffy, and have lost their nice solid crunch. They are like styrofoam in comparison. They get soggy very quickly. I beg you Quaker, please bring the original recipe back. This was literally the only cereal I would ever buy.
Reunited!

As others have note, these new post-salmonella Oatmeal Squares are not as good as the ones before. Why must manufacturers try to fix something that's not broken. I can overlook a salmonella outbreak, but changing a product and saying that it's the same is just dishonest.

The crunch isn't as crisp as it used to be. The taste is more bland. The squares are smaller. I thought maybe I just bought a stale box at first, but I bought a second one and it tasted the same.

I am wondering if Quaker was making the Kroger brand oat squares. I found it after the Quaker brand disappeared from shelves. It was pretty much the same and I like it very much and it costs less. However I have noticed the last couple weeks the Kroger brand has now disappeared and the Quaker brand is slowly reappearing. However I can't justify the higher cost of the Quaker and it is still hard to find. From what I have seen in the reviews I am not sure I want to find the Quaker but sure wish I could find the Kroger brand again.
Just what I expected.
