I have been eating this cereal for 20+ years. The most recent box I purchased seems like the Quaker company is making the cereal hollow on the inside now. I appreciated how dense the squares were. The taste is also lighter, which I do not appreciate.

Glad to have it back. It is different, but still like better than other products and will continue to buy. The fruit and Almond milk that goes with makes All Good! Low sugar and still crunch. Thanks
Bring back old recipe.

Bummer. The ‘new’ Quaker Oats squares don’t cut it. No crunch. No flavor. Gets soggy in milk. These taste like the grocery store brand knock off. Please bring back the original recipe.
Not the same cereal

Us loyal customer have all waited so long and so patiently for this cereal to return to stores after the recall only for it to be a completely different formula, and not for the better. The flavor has disappeared, squares are smaller, and now the cereal softens way too quickly in the milk. Why change it at all?? Very disappointing as this has been the only cereal I buy for years.
New cereal is not great

I was craving Quaker Oatmeal Squares and bought some yesterday. I can't handle lactose like I used to, so I don't eat cereal as often. But Quaker Oatmeal Squares were always a good dry snack. When I opened the box, though, I did not find what I remembered the cereal looking and taking like. Thinking I was crazy, I came to the interwebs to solve the mystery. I discovered I'm not crazy, and that many others feel how I do about this new product. The taste and crunch aren't there, and it was so much better before.
Yuck! Please take the negative reviews seriously!

Quaker, please take all of these negative reviews seriously and react accordingly!!!! You created a great product which customers enjoyed for decades. When you were forced to shut down production, you kept us (not so) patiently waiting 9 months for it to return to grocers' shelves. Then we learn that you've changed the recipe?!?! How dare you? Why fix what was never broken? The newest version is no longer square, but rectangular in shape. Each piece is 20 percent smaller than it used to be. Paler in color, it no longer has the desirable flavor I enjoyed for years, and the texture is wimpier and does not stay crunchy in milk. I, like so many others, am extremely disappointed and will not repurchase until I know you've returned to your original recipe of Oat Squares.

I've been eating Quaker Oat Squares for decades, and I was surprised that the boxes we bought in September 2024 had a totally different recipe and size for the cereal. The new recipe lacks flavor and crunch, and it immediately falls apart in milk. We're going to return the boxes that we haven't eaten, and hopefully you will bring the original recipe back?

Not what they were and no where as good and this is based on taste and texture. I understand that this is from another facility and want to thank you for getting the avalability to us. I do hope the old version of Oatmeal Squares does come back. It might not be important to you for your customers to have information but to some of us that have been eating Oatmeal Squares for so long and supporting Quaker the lack of comunication does not make for good customer relations. Please try to get the word out as to what is going on with your product. I will hope for the best and to be a loyal customer for years to come. Thank You for Listening

They had such a huge customer base waiting on pins and needless to finally get some once they came back on the shelves. Just to take the long awaited first bite and have a massive disappointment! These are chalky, smaller, and not enjoyable at all. It was a challenge to finish my first bowl. I bought 3 boxes and I’ll be returning the other 2.
Disappointed!

I used to love Quaker Oat Squares. They had a great flavor and stayed crunchy after adding milk. I just bought some recently and noticed they had very little flavor and started getting soggy soon after adding milk. Please bring back the original recipe. No one likes soggy cereal!

I’ve been an oatmeal squares fan for decades, and I’ve missed them a lot while they’ve been off the shelves. I bought them when I saw them back on the shelves today and was so excited to try them when I got home. I couldn’t believe the recipe was different! It was soft and mushy when I chewed rather than crunchy and flavorful. It was bland. I didn’t like them. I don’t think I will buy more any more boxes unless they go back to the old recipe. 😭

The return of our favorite cereal is not the same, not what we expected. The texture is different - too much air, powdery/gritty, less sweet, dull. I tried comparing old/new labels and couldn’t id change. But warning: it is changed, and not better.

My wife and I have been waiting impatiently since January to see Oatmeal Squares return to store shelves. Thanks for zero updates on when that was going to happen. And we were ecstatic when we found some online, and we rushed out to pick up several boxes. Like everyone else is complaining, the current cereal is "Made in Canada" and is not the same as the U.S. version. While I don't think this version is the worst cereal ever, it's not nearly as good. It seems hollow...lacking substance...others describe it as a "puff cereal." I'm able to eat it before it gets soggy, but I have to be rather quick about it. The original is our favorite...5 stars...we always had a few boxes on hand. We won't be stockpiling this version. I hope this is a temporary solution until the U.S. plant is ready to produce the original recipe once again, and not a "New Coke" endeavor. If Quaker is trying to cut costs and permanently shift to this Canadian version for production consolidation, it will soon realize its mistake. Please explain to us what Quaker's plans are...the lack of communication has been offensive to us once-loyal customers. And give it to us straight...if this is all we're going to have in the future, tell us now.

I was so excited to see this back on the shelf that I bought four boxes. I'll be returning the three unopened ones. This is NOT the original Oatmeal Squares. It's more like a puffed cereal and the texture is horrible. Sticks to my teeth. Not much flavor either, very bland. I am SO VERY disappointed. I see in the comments that I may have gotten the Canadian version. I'll check into this and give Quaker another chance if/when they bring back the US version. I eat this cereal dry, with tea, in the car, at my desk. I need something portable and snackable and low in sugar. While the recall was on, I switched to Kellogg's Mini Wheats Little Bites. They're too sugary, but they're a good substitute. Maybe a permanent substitute now. Please bring back the ORIGINAL Oat Squares!
