A: Usually the polish remover starts to dry up before the sponge wears down. I have poured polish into it to extend the life of the remover until I can get another one.

As a rule of thumb, if you notice that the sponge is starting to wear or if it's taking longer than usual to remove you polish, it's probably time for a new remover pot. I’ve bought this 3 times in a row and it’s been great every time. Easy to use and lasts through a lot of paintings. I’m a fan of it being smaller and less bulky than the other options. Also the cap has a little sponge too that is great for toenails or difficult glitter polish.
