    As a whole it’s a wonderful toothbrush.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I would have given a 5 Star, however, when brushing the app does not recognize me brushing on some quartering and request touch ups. Sometimes it will recognize all areas and say complete clean. I am not sure if it is a flaw in the AI Brush or the App. I ignore it when it does it because I am fully aware when brushing all my teeth. I had this toothbrush in Champagne color stolen by TSA in August and turned around and purchased the Black color one to replace it and remind me when I travel not to trust TSA. So in the length of time using this brush will include both brushes.

    Best toothbrush you can buy!

This is the best toothbrush I have used. It does everything it says on the box. My teeth are cleaner and gums feel better. A lot better than my Oral b IO toothbrush. Worth the extra expense!

    Disappointed

I purchased the Philips Sonicare 9900 Prestige because it was the top of the range, and I thought it would be the best electric toothbrush and give the best results. I am hugely disappointed with this product. Although it has five modes: deep clean, clean, white, gum health and sensitive; you can’t move between modes unless you open the App on your phone using WIFI or Bluetooth. I don’t expect to have to fiddle with my phone while I’m cleaning my teeth. But I do want to use ‘deep clean’ and move on the ‘white’ during cleaning without having to log on to my phone. How ridiculous, how disappointing. What a waste of money….

Deeply Flawed Product That Doesn't Last

I have been using Sonicare toothbrushes for roughly 15 years and the once high quality is at an all-time low. I have had this toothbrush replaced 5+ times because the metal shaft that holds the head in place inevitably shakes itself loose. Sometimes it lasts a year, sometimes it lasts a few weeks, but it will happen and it makes the toothbrush unusable. It's unacceptable for a top of the line model, let alone any model within the Sonicare product line, to not last more than a few weeks or months. I would not recommend purchasing this product.

Great Until It Stopped Working - Don't Buy

It stopped working just short of two years. When it worked, I really enjoyed it, and this wasn't my first Sonicare toothbrush. For the price point, I expected better quality. I would highly recommend purchasing a cheaper version or a different brand; it's not worth the money to replace it every couple of years. There are no replacement parts for the handle, so you will need to rebuy the entire item. Such a disappointment!

    This product was disappointing

It was not as powerful as I expected. A design flaw was that when using the toothbrush it was easy to press the 3 intensity dots, thus inadvertently reducing the strength of the clean. After a couple of weeks the recharging device stopped working and the toothbrush effectively died. I returned to the supplier and got a refund. I have always regarded this brand as the best cleaning experience ever, but this is the second brush which has been faulty, so I am reluctantly considering other options.

    Useful While It Lasted...

This was my first "adult money purchase" a few years ago and I was thrilled about it. However, not longer after receiving it the gold band where the toothbrush head connects with the the base fell off. Three years later, since I had a hard time keeping the water from collecting there after brushing, the rubber gasket where the toothbrush head is attached started growing mold. I tried to stop this from happening with different tactics to dry and disinfect after use, but it did not work. The mold moved downward into the base of the toothbrush and I ended up cutting the rubber gasket in desperation. I realize some may lecture me about doing this because it rendered the toothbrush unusable a few weeks later but I chose malfunctioning toothbrushes over mold near my mouth. I am downgrading to a different sonicare and hoping that if it happens again I don't have to replace it soon.

    Improved over Diamond Clean

Can use the Diamond Clean brush heads and these functions are easier to select. My Diamond Clean toothbrush stopped connecting to Bluetooth. The Prestige 9900 is a great advancement. I selected the color as I have a large supply of black brushheads.

    Philips Sonicare Buyer's Beware

It's time to say goodbye to Philips Sonicare. After owning three of their toothbrushes, I'm convinced the brand has major quality control issues. Each one lasted only a year and a half to two years before breaking down completely. My experience isn't unique, either. A quick search on Reddit shows countless others facing the same problem, with many users reporting a similar two-year lifespan for their devices. I'm finally switching to the Oral-B iO series and would advise anyone considering a new electric toothbrush to avoid Philips Sonicare.

Touch buttons don't belong on a toothbrush

Whoever chose to put a touch sensitive control on an electric toothbrush should be fired and so should everyone who signed off on it

Amazing cleaning job - expensive but worthy

Just upgraded from a 6100 that I've had for many years that finally died. I managed to fix it myself (thanks YouTube) before the 9900 arrived but figured I'd give it a shot anyhow. The 9900 is a huge, huge upgrade. The app is nice and all (especially for changing modes on the brush), but really this toothbrush just does an incredible cleaning job. It's expensive, but so far a worthwhile investment. It does a much deeper clean than any other Sonicare I've had.

    Great feature: guidance option

For me this is a game changer how I brush my teeth. Because of the app guidance I definitely pay more attention to proper brushing and realised how poorly I was brushing my teeth before.

quality issue with handle tip - makes a loud sound

Second time i'm submitting a warranty repair for this product in less than a year. The handle tip is loose creates a very loud buzzing sound. . I have sent both of my toothbrushes to phillips for warranty replacement and hopefully, identification of the underlying recurrent cause. This is a quality issue that has not been addressed or satisfactorily addressed. My husband bought a significantly cheaper version of this brush several years ago and has had zero issues. I previously had a sonicare for 15+ years without any issues at all. Dont need the high tech bluetooth functions. Just need a brush that works consistently and long term.

    Jury is still out

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product was recommended by my dental hygienist, so I won't really know how effective it is until I return for my next visit in another four months. I find the app annoying and frustrating. I never get it right and have given up on using it. I also never complete brushing in the two minutes before it automatically shuts off, so I have to turn it on again in order to complete the task.
