Stop the Bioengineered food!
Bioengineered! It looks different and after adding milk, the man-made meal floats up to the surface. The flavor is bland, texture boring. I will not purchase ANY Nature Valley product again!

Messy to snack on

Natural Flavors Should Be More Transparent
Hi, my sons love these as an occasional snack, but I am unsure if I can eat them or not. I have allergies to over 70 foods/seasonings, etc., and since most products only list the major allergens, I rely on precise ingredient lists. I understand if you are trying to be proprietary, but I would like to know what your natural flavors include, or at least if they include any corn or corn derivative, soy fillers other than soy lecithin, or cinnamon. Can you provide any clarity? If I can safely eat these, they will become a staple in my "travel food" backpack and safe work snack options.

Safety is our number one priority. We find broad global consensus among food and safety regulatory bodies that approved genetically modified/bioengineered ingredients are safe. The U.N. World Health Organization (WHO), The U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), The European Food Safety Authority, The U.S. Food and Drug Administration, The U.S. Department of Agriculture, The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and Health Canada have all found approved bioengineered crops to be as safe and acceptable as their conventional counterparts. The National Academy of Sciences, the American Medical Association and the British Royal Society also say there is no health risk associated with genetically modified/bioengineered foods or ingredients. Shrinkflation
This was something that made my childhood great. But now they are more expensive than ever and less. They gotten so small now for some reason. The flavor is still there but give me some value for my money.

Bars are smaller while packaging is the same which I believe causes the bars to crumble during transport. Flavor still good. Shrinkflation strikes again. Company squeezing profits again.

More crunchy
My purchase of the larger box of simple oats and honey Crunchy Granola Bars revealed everything stale and nothing crunchy. So I bought the standard small box and found them to be even crunchier than they used to be. Looking at product info revealed rice ingredient that made them easier for me to eat as I tolerate rice even better than oats. The GMO issue never applies to me as I have no time for such things. Just finding food that I can tolerate is a chore. I am old now and know people at MSU in Michigan who modify food for growth in changing climates, think blueberries in Peru. The world needs GMO foods as climate change worsens.

New Version is Nasty
Had to check the box to see if these were a stale batch. Sad to find out it wasn't and the reviews here prove it. Hoping the team see this and changes the recipe back as these are my go to breakfast snack.

THEY TASTE STALE
Nature valley bars have been my favorite snack for over 10 years. However, this past year the bars have ALWAYS tasted stale. I miss the old bars. At this point I am tired of wasting my money on these and will mourn the way they used to be.

Disappointed
As so many have indicated, something has changed and the packages are harder to open. However, more concerning is the ingredients. I never would have thought that you would use bioengineered ingredients in something so healthful. I am disappointed.

Lost a customer due to change recipe ingredients
They changed the recipe and new version taste like crap. I used to eat 3 of these every day, and I no longer buy these because the changed the recipe. I don’t think they even put honey in anymore.

Crunch is different, and not good.
I agree with lots of folks that the recipe seems to have changed - they fall apart when you bite them or break off a piece. The packages are harder to open but I had a few "bad" boxes where they seemed stale. It would be nice to have a package that keeps them fresh without needing to use scissors to open them - kind of impacts the portability! I wish they would go back to the recipe they had before

Change the recipe back!
These were always my favorite granola bars. Wish has happened to them? I thought I had gotten a bad box a while back. I just bought some again, and they’re the same! Less crunchy, the oats are more chewy, they don’t break as easily, and they’re nearly impossible to open.

They have changed their recipe because they taste different and the crunchiness is much less crunchy. Something is definitely different and I wish they would go back but they won't because I am sure it has to do with money - MAKING MORE PROFITS is always more important than the customer wants!
