Scotch Masking Tape 1.88" x 50m: Wide Beige Adhesive Roll for Art & Office, 1965.6 Length, 1 Pack

This is the worst masking tape I've ever bought. Why would you ever make the glue stronger than the tape? It rips 100% of the time that I use it. It takes a long time to pull up the end and use it again. If I didn't already know of the Scotch brand, I'd think they just didn't know how to make tape. I'd say buy 3M but they own Scotch so I question their quality now too.

What has happened to your masking tape? I have been using this masking tape all my life. My uncle even worked for 3M years ago. I’m not buying another roll. The last few I have struggled with to have the tape come off the roll without splitting into thin strips that went nowhere. At first I assumed I had gotten a “fluke,” but now I see that is the way your tape is. It seems too thin and has no body to it. What a disappointment your product has become. To be completely honest with you, I’m not sure what to say, it is masking tape, and it’s exactly what it is advertised to be. It works well for anything you might need masking tape for, and it’s strong, so if you need it in a pinch to package something or tape something, it should do just fine, but at the same time if you need to rip it by hand it will rip pretty easily, while maintaining its strength when applied.

I bought this a month ago and I'm totally disappointed. It will not unroll without breaking off. It sticks to itself so hard it's almost impossible to unroll. I tossed all 6 rolls in the trash it was so bad. Not only would I not recommend this product to a friend, I would not recommend it to someone I dislike.

So many reviews saying the same thing. It's hard to get the tape off the roll. Why doesn't Scotch respond with replies of any substance? Just the copy and paste, "thank you, we're sorry, please call us..." Maybe it's time to start taking care of your customers, before they're gone.

I had for several years been using Scotch brand Blue tape for a specific project. I recognize the desired tape by yellow icons printed on blue: EdgeLock, 2093EL, and ScotchBlue. However, my most recent purchase had plastic covering over the surface of the tape that prevented me from discerning the desired product from labelled as "original." I mistakenly purchased the "original" and do not want to spend a great deal of my precious time testing to see if it works as well as the desired product. Since product reviews are not easily found, none were made.

i had trouble to get the tape started, so the next time you'all get a batch of tape to sell make sure you'all have it started already.

I might understand the poor quality if made in a third world country...well I guess it is. I trashed the roll after the 15 th tear. No more SCOTCH tape for me.

This quality it not as what I'm used to from this company. Perhaps it's too wide.

Works exactly how I would expect it to I might even buy more.

Sometime in the past 3M must have changed to a thinner crepe paper for their masking tape. It is impossible to peel the tape off the role without it sticking. Other people are complaining about the same thing. It's not worth saving a few pennies on manufacturing if it makes the product worthless.

I bought this tape and have used your products. This roll is like some of the other complaints. I have to use a sharp knife once it rips and tears. It also seems to have and overlay of tape on the sides. The product just doesn't seem to be up to par.

Bought this tape last week and tried to use it today and can not get it off the roll no matter how easy and slowly I try, it just starts ripping/tearing from the get-go. I've had this happen to previous rolls and thought that maybe it was just old tape but it's the same with new tape. I don't know what you have changed but this tape isn't worth half the price it cost any more.

I have been a solid fan of 3M and Scotch products for 45 years and am brand loyal some 98% when purchasing. Two recent purchases have disappointed: the decorative masking tape, and the traditional, off-white masking tape. The decorative masking tape was semi-sheer and didn't have the opacity to cover/conceal, say, a transition in color, nor any pattern present on the surface beneath it. The traditional masking tape seems thinner, too, and the quality is not nearly what it used to be. I handle and store my tapes kindly. A banged-up roll of masking tape is much more likely to tear or rip lengthwise. But my new, fresh, not dented roll of Scotch masking tape has been extremely prone to lengthwise, angled tear-offs--pretty much every time it is used. I expected better from Scotch/3M.

We use this tape around the house to label things. Its easy to use and not very expensive
