A: While the website says 400, the sticker on the actual stool says 300.

Q: Can this step stool be used out doors?
A: sure - it's made of sturdy plastic. i imagine, however, that the little foam circles would deteriorate over time if left out in wet weather.

Q: How does do you get this to lock open? I just got this and when I open it I don't see a way to lock it open. Mine just wants to close back up. How does it lock?
A: The ladder doesn't have an actual lock, once open it shouldn't collapse

Q: Has there been any sort of resolution to the issue that has been mentioned 3 times - that the stool is not actually 13", but 8"? (I don't want to order it from someone's registry without knowing!)

Q: How do I know if it's locked correctly?
A: Hi Lisa, This step stool doesn’t use a traditional lock, but it’s designed with a clever folding hinge system to stay open safely while you use it. When you unfold the stool, make sure to open the two short sides completely. As you fold the stool open, the two top halves press against each other at the middle hinge (right under the handle). As you step on the stool, your weight pushes the middle section down and out, which helps the hinges stay tight and the legs firmly in place. So while nothing “clicks” or locks into place, the stool naturally holds itself open thanks to this strong center hinge and the downward pressure from your body weight. Please always use this item on a sturdy, flat surface. Thank you!
