A: As a natural fiber, jute contains some moisture content. Once you unpackage/unroll the rug any moisture and/or residual smell will dissipate within 2-3 days. This is common in natural fiber area rugs.

A: A jute rug will naturally shed a bit throughout its lifetime but it can easily be mitigated with occasional vacuuming. We recommend raising or disabling the beater brush on your vacuum if possible as that will limit wear on the rug. I have two jute rugs in my home on hardwood floors and there is hardly any shedding issues.

Soft with minimal shedding
Although I ultimately retuned this rug due to it’s size - I LOVED IT! It’s soft under foot compared to other jute rugs and the blue is exactly as pictured. Also when I removed it from my floor there was very little shedding. Wish it worked in my space!

This rug looks beautiful and I had it under my breakfast table but sadly, it fell apart in less than a year. It started stretching and then the ties for the jute came off as well. The rings of this rug (circular pattern) started opening up as well. Great to use in no traffic zone.
