Gray swirly from the can in my coconut milk
I bought good and gather organic unsweetened coconut milk in the past this happened to me at that time a couple years later decided to try it again thinking it was a fluke, but there’s still gray swirls from the can in the coconut milk when you pour it out into a bowl you will see it

Best so far for me, and did some digging for the negative reviews
Honestly , this is a very unique coconut milk. And I love it and hope it never changes. I came here to praise it only to see a strange ungodly amount of one star reviews talking about how awful it was. I was left thinking what on Earth is going on??. People talking about it doesn't taste like coconut, too sweet, tastes artificially sweetened, tastes like almond/oatmilk. Ect. I use this to cook a curry. And it came out just fine. I had a relative Taste the Curry that I made and had zero problems with it too. He thought it tasted good and noticed the difference that I noticed. And that it is on the slightly sweeter side. But nowhere cloying like everyone swears it is. It has a unique sweet coconut smell. Almost vanilla like. It worked well for my coconut curry. But I think it would work even better for desserts because of it's unique taste. So I'm trying to figure out why I'm in an alternate universe compared to all these one-star reviews. Well the first instinct would be to brush it off. However I wanted to hear the one star reviews out. Even though my experience was waaaaay different. And I had other relatives try it and they agreed with me and found nothing wrong with it. I contemplated that sometimes companies will add extra ingredients in a product, and not list it. So there is a possibility that there could have been something artificially sweet in here that wasn't listed, is what I thought. I decided to do some digging. Anyone who is reading this review, look at the details of this product and its origin. It is from listed from "Vietnam". Once you see and confirm that, Google "Vietnamese coconuts". It did not take long to look at the results. And sure enough Vietnamese coconuts from what I looked up. Are known for the renowned "SWEETNESS ". Vietnam's coconuts are NATURALLY SWEETER THAN Thai and carribian coconuts. Keep in mind. All I Googled was Vietnamese coconut. I did not type in anything implying the flavor. That was the result. Thai coconuts are less sweet than Vietnamese coconuts, and have a stronger nuttier flavor. Which ironically lines up with all the negative review complaints. So in conclusion, from my research. The problem is not that this product is artificially sweetened or is less coconut than anything else. Its that the negative /poor reviews simply DO NOT like coconuts from Vietnam. They only like Thai coconuts more than likely, and that is their only reference more than likely of what coconut taste like. If anyone knows anything about fruits. Is that the same fruit have a tendency of tasting different based off of region. A common food that is known for this is coffee beans. Anyone who knows coffee and coffee origins. Know that beans taste completely different based off of region and climate. The same is for coconuts. Not "sweetened", not, "artificial ". It's Vietnamese. That's all. I ask this to people who have not tried this brand yet to keep that in mind. I personally, like some of the other positive reviewers. Do not see this as anywhere close to being cloyingly sweet. I feel like it's a gross exaggeration ( honestly, the can literally says less than 1 g of sugar. A bag of Skittles has 40 plus grams. Even if the company had lied about the amount of sugar in there. Do you honestly think that it has sugar on the level that would be cloying to people. Yet somehow more sugar than the average bag of candy that nobody complains about? The only conclusion you can get is exaggeration. ) It is lightly sweet. To me personally, the thai brand doesn't taste sweet at all. Or just barely any sweetness. This just tastes lightly sweetened. If you do not like the idea of your coconut milk having a creamy sweetness touch to it. I advise you to stick to the Thai brand. Me personally though, I consider this my favorite. And it just so happens to be the cheapest.

I am extremely upset that Target uses their online orders to get rid of their damaged cans! Shame on you! The only reason why I gave this one star is because this site forces me to. Again, shame on new target.

No cans
Bring back the cartons! I've been using the Good&Gather coconut milk in cartons for years and then suddenly you switch to cans. I won't buy the cans!

It Depends
I have a good and bad experience with this coconut milk. I used it with beef and a Malaysian curry and it was amazing. However, I tried to use this to make a shrimp sauce with real coconut shavings and it was ridiculously too sweet.

Artficial taste
Tasted artificial and sweet. It did not taste like coconut in the slightest. It ruined my curry. I do not recommend at all.

great taste
This is the best coconut milk I've found so far. It's so thick and rich. Works well for coconut rice, and chickpeas too.

Too Sweet
Unreasonably sweet. I usually use Whole Foods coconut milk as a substitute for heavy cream and it made dinner heavy and sweater than it should be. Figured unsweetened meant the same across the board.

Yuck yuck!!
Too watery. Did not taste like coconut. Completely separated. Basically, didn’t taste like anything. The best brand so far is the Goya for coconut milk.

Delicious, thick and creamy. Perfect for baking and cooking. My only complaint is that cans often arrive dented but that's the fault of people packing, not the product. The product is outstanding.

Too watered down and tastes like almond milk.
Buyer beware. This coconut milk doesn't even taste like coconut milk. Imagine my surprise when I opened it and there was no fat layer on top. Imagine my greater surprise when it TASTED LIKE ALMOND MILK because it is so watered down. Oh and not to forget the "Refrigerate unused portion and use within 24hrs" on the can. Most full fat coconut milk gives up to 5 days. How is this a use within 24hrs?
