Q: Can I use Rechargeable lithium batteries?

A: ProjeX requires 3 "AA" batteries (not included). With normal use, regular alkaline batteries will provide many hours of play. We do not suggest using rechargeable batteries.

Followed instructions, pressed power, and it didn't do anything. Followed troubleshooting steps as provided and it turned on but projector lights never came on. Tried set of 4 different, also new batteries with the same result. Did troubleshooting steps again with no luck. I came to read reviews and I see about half the people here have the same problem. Seems to be a coin flip on whether or not it will work as advertised. Not worth the clearly high likelihood of disappointing your child.

Despite the negative reviews, we decided to give this toy a chance, hoping we wouldn’t experience the same issues. The most common complaint I saw was about battery usage, so to be extra cautious, I bought brand-new batteries instead of using the ones I had at home. Right out of the box, there was a troubleshooting guide included, which in hindsight should have been a red flag. After inserting the batteries, the toy didn’t turn on at all. We tried removing and reinserting them multiple times, and eventually, it powered on—but only played the startup sound with no images appearing. After about 30 minutes of troubleshooting, it finally displayed one image... and then nothing else. It was a huge letdown, especially for our child, who had been so excited to play with it. I genuinely don’t understand how this toy made it to market in such poor condition. Will be returning

At first, the game is finicky to figure out; however, thankful for the review that said to push the blaster cord in hard and it would come on! It sure did! Then, I couldn’t figure out how to get it going once it was on… the key is to pull the blaster hammer back and bam! Worked like a dream! If the guns aren’t lit up, they won’t work meaning each time their light goes out you have to pull the blaster hammer back to activate it again. My almost 4 year old enjoyed the basic first level; beyond that was a little difficult. My 6 year old had an easier time with the first and second levels and we play for about an hour. No need to return!

Don’t get me wrong this game is awesome and was fun for the first 2 hrs my kids and I played it then it broke and wouldn’t work anymore so basically it lasted two hrs that’s it!

Absolutely terrible. It worked for 2 different play sessions totalling maybe 15 minutes and now won't turn on. Tried new batteries and giving it a few days and coming back to it. It's still useless!!! Dont throw out the box if you get it so you can make a return.

Like all of the other reviewers, we too could not get this to work at first. We finally realized the guns were not plugged in all of the way. Push them down harder and the game will start working. No need to return! Works great now.

My boys love this thing! It’s a projector game. At first it was difficult to start so I went back to read the instructions a second time. After putting the batteries and if it doesn’t turn on, take them out then click the power button and then put them on again. Second, if it makes a loud noise when you put the power button on, it’s because the game was in backwards. Third, in order to get the game to start you have to load from the gun to get them to turn on. My 6 year old figured this out. Lol. This took a total of 10 minutes to figure out and set up. And yes, it works best in a completely dark room.

I ordered two of these for both of my older boys for Christmas. I didn't read the reviews until after we unboxed the first one and it doesn't work. Unit powered on one time long enough for us to focus the targets, but then shut off and would not power back on despite changing out the batteries three times. From glancing at other reviews, most everyone has had the same experience. I'm not sure if the second unit works or not as my oldest has not opened it yet. We may try a different brand of battery just to see what happens, but a battery is a battery, and brands shouldn't matter. Either way, will likely be returning both of these as it's too much of a pain to get it to work.
