This is THE BOOK!!!
I’ve never loved a children’s book more than this one. As soon as I read the first page, I put it in the cart. When I read it with my daughter tonight, I. WAS. SOBBING. More than I cry when I read “Love You Forever”. I couldn’t even read clearly and my sweet angel looked up at me with the sweetest face as I read this to her. This is the most tender and precious book that brings ALL of my emotions to the surface. Going through all of her future phases of life, while reminding her I will always be there for her. And so will Heavenly Father. Ps. If you’re a Christian (which is random I know), you will love this!!!

This book talks about seeing monsters at night… my daughter has never been scared of “monsters” until I read this stupid book. I should have read it over before hand. Now she keeps saying she sees monsters. Traumatized my child.

Better Than Ever
While the message of this book has stood the test of time, I think that the new illustrations in the 2019 update make the book even better. With bears instead of humans in the drawings, more families can see themselves in the illustrations--no ethnicity or gender is apparent now--just a kid bear who is loved by their parent-figure bear. No one will feel marginalized. Also, this is a good book for a child who has lost a parent or parent-figure; the ending gently reminds the reader of the Christian's eternal life in heaven (without getting into any theological details).

The message in this wonderful book by Max Lucado is such an important one to share with the children in your life - that they are special because God made them, and that you and God love them, no matter what. The illustrations are beautiful and inclusive, and are a perfect complement to Max's words.
