The flashlight is the best part

This book looked cute, especially with the flashlight, so we gave it a try. I was disappointed that I couldn’t flip through the pages at the store first to see if it was decent, because the whole book was wrapped in plastic packaging (not just the flashlight part, which would be understandable). We’re a fan of the other Eric CarIe books, so we gave it a try. I guess you’re supposed to be able to see things when you shine the flashlight at the pop ups, but it was a bit underwhelming. My kids basically just like playing with the flashlight.

Beautiful and fun!

My three year old got this as a gift and loves it! The illustrations and pop ups are beautiful, and the sound effects, flashlight, and instructions for shadow puppets make it immersive and engaging.

Defective flashlight

I love the idea of this book. The pop up images are great and my son loved creating shadows with the included flashlight. BUT the flashlight is defective…. It INCESSANTLY plays sounds and music when NO ONE/NOTHING is pressing the buttons!! Twice it went off in the middle of the night and would not stop. I finally removed the batteries and it is just a pop up book for now.
