Q: How much allowable weight can I stack on top of each medium duty box? I'm asking because I need to stack them in storage with books, kitchen items, etc items inside the boxes. Thank you

A: I bought these for the same purpose based on description. The bottom is 4 sides of cardboard that come together like an iris. There is no reinforcement. When you lift the box the bottom falls out.

These boxes are so sturdy!
As a collector of many different items, it's nice having a large collection of boxes. The boxes are sturdy and I can easily stack 4+ boxes without them collapsing in on one another. They come in 2 pieces and take less than a minute to assemble. Sometimes the lids don't stay perfectly secure, but a piece of tape fixes it easily. They are white boxes so you can easily label what's inside the box. I love these storage boxes and they are reasonably priced.

Ordered these boxes to pack things away for a major move. They were easy enough for my ten year old to assemble and held up quite well filled with various items from toiletries to dishes. Buyer be mindful that the packaging does specify that these are NOT heavy duty. They are MEDIUM duty and should be handled as such. With that in mind, I found the boxes to be quite sturdy and the handles are secure.

Bad design for bottom
I thought these were a regular banker box design, I should have looked closer. Needed some last minute boxes for moving. Love the size of file boxes. Didn't think much of the design at first, but when I picked up my first full box the bottom bowed out, but so far is holding. Hope these last this trip, will only use for lighter items for future moves. The sides are sturdier, but it's not worth sacrificing the bottom.
