I actually loved these bags. I didn't have any issue with them. Tearing, at all, as I saw other reviews & was a little reluctant... but I haven't had to be gentle with them, & they still have not torn...
Good for small dry snacks

The compostable material of the bag feels very silky and has a frosted texture. Can’t speak to how well it composts, but it does the job for light duty containment of snacks. We use it for pretzels and candy, but when we tried it with some fish sticks, which our usual plastic bags are fine with, my son found them to be too flimsy, with the smell escaping and filling his backpack and locker. We’ll just stick to plastic containers and foil for those!

We have been loving these storage bags for snacks and lunches! No more plastic because these still keep your food fresh AND they are compostable. We will be looking into all the other size options that are offered to make the transition to using only these and making a little more of a difference in the landfills

I love the compostable concept, but these are decently hard to open. Lots of them tear at the top before you can open them. Tip: use your finger nails to pull the zipper apart.

I’m really happy with these bags! They work perfectly, just like standard sandwich bags, but the fact that they are compostable is a huge plus for me. They feel really thick and sturdy, and I’m impressed with how easy they are to handle, opening and closing they are such great quality, and I feel good using them.

Compostable sandwich bags made from plants. These are great. I often take a peanut butter sandwich and chips to work I hated how many baggies I wasted in a week. These work great to keep my lunch fresh and are easy to open.
Heavy duty, quality sandwich bags that are good for the planet! Too good to be true?

These are quality sandwich bags. They are thick and sturdy. The package says that they will fully compost within 12 months, which is pretty cool! They are easy to open and close back up again! The box is strangely heavy.. just feels like quality!
Just okay

These are just okay. You don’t get very many in the box compared to other ones. The seal sometimes works not always. This affected the quality of food we stored in them. If using for non-perishables would be just fine.

Great for the environment but I feel like these tear easily. I love not having to worry about adding to further plastic waste but they don’t seem as durable as plastic bags. Then again, I am a frequent re-user of plastic bags (I always rinse them out and reuse them multiple times before throwing away). I don’t think you could get much reuse out of these.
Pretty good

My first thought about these bags was that they seemed pretty thin but they seem to hold up and don't rip easily. My kids use them in their lunches and they do the job. They are a good size. It's good that they are compastable.
Great baggies

These sandwich baggies are a great basic baggie. They close easily and hold a perfect amount of snacks. The fact that these are compostable is a huge plus! They aren’t thin or easy to tear like some other baggies

I love these bags! I use a lot of this type of bag because of the convenience but I always feel bad about the waste. The fact that these are compostable makes me feel a lot better about it! Plus, they close and function really well.

I love these baggies. They are super high quality, easy to close and keep my food fresh. They’re very durable, too. I use them to pack my lunch each day and not once has the bag ripped or not closed. Love them! Plus they compost!!!

I really like the idea of using compostable bags. I'm always trying to use plastic containers, but they always get damaged in the process or my children lose the lids. I hate using plastic bags for everything, especially as I trying to teach my children to be more environmentally friendly. He's having a perfect size for this snack. They've been sturdy, don't open on their own, and the seala are strong.
Good, sturdy bags.

I was a bit skeptical about these bags but wanted to try something new and I am really glad I did. These bags are extremely durable and are much stronger than other sandwich bags. The value is definitely there, and best part is that it is ecofriendly. You definitely want to give these bags a try.
They work.

I like that this brand is trying to help the environment with our plastic situation, however, I just don't like getting my food out of a bag that has compostable in large print on both sides and facts on it. It just hits me wrong for some reason. Also, I feel like the seal is not very strong. If you don't mind the words all over the bag though and you are not putting something inside that can leak, these bags would be great for you and you will be helping our environment.
So happy with these!

An alternative option to plastic bags for food storage

I'm a teacher, and I use sandwich and snack-size baggies all the time to store game pieces, partner and small group activities, and the like. Over the past few years, I have been working on finding alternative solutions to plastic for the storage of materials. When offered the opportunity to review these bags for Target, I thought I would try these out to see how durable they might be for a classroom setting. They are thick and strong and seal very well - if fact, maybe too well for a classroom setting, as it is a little difficult to pull apart the seal and may not hold up over time. (This is a great feature, though, for a sandwich or snacks!) The company indicates that they compost completely within 12 months, and that for best results, they should be used within 6 months, so I wonder what the condition of these bags might look like when I use them for an activity a year from now. So, for the teachers out there who are also thinking about making sustainable choices with storage needs, these might not be the best idea for a classroom setting if you're counting on long-term storage of little pieces. So back to food storage in my kitchen they go! I'm going to use them for sandwiches and snacks when I'm out and about on hiking and biking adventures. They are PFAS-free, BPA-free, gluten-free, and nut-free. I can feel better about using them with food and that they will eventually break down and not cause harm to our environment.

These bags are nice but very flimsy and hard to open. I like that they are compostable but with that comes the disadvantage of them not being very durable. I used them for our picnic lunch and put sandwiches in them but wouldn’t put anything like fruit or something as don’t know how durable they would be with that.
