A bit messy
There’s gold colored sand in a hidden compartment under the chest which is unnecessarily messy. Also This item seems a bit overpriced for what it is. preferred the gold skull dino island zuru smashers toy for a treasure hunt. This chest cost $20 and the larger gold skull toy cost $10 and had more fun stuff. Also I didn’t appreciate that the key doesn’t really work -it got stuck - used a pencil to get the treasure chest to open.

Missing key-otherwise cute
You need the key to open it up and there was no key. Very disappointed and my kid kept asking for the key. At that point the package was destroyed so I figured there was no returning it. We ended up using a metal chopstick to get in the treasurebox. Besides that it's really cute. What kid doesn't want buried pirate treasure? The tools aren't as good as some other sets and the shovel doesn't do a great job shoveling, but my kid doesn't seem to mind it. Other sets have the sand play more contained and I prefer that. The glittery sand gets shimmer everywhere. I prefer the kit that has the sandcastle, shark, and turtle.

Great treasure hunt to find the gems
This is the second time buying because my son loves it so much, ours was missing the key but honestly we just open it without. The people saying gems were not included maybe didn’t find the treasure in the treasure hunt, there’s a panel that opens from the bottom with gold sand and gems.

Too pricey for what you get
The key is very hard to use. It ends up getting stuck inside of the keyhole. I struggle to open and close it for my son. This was a lot of fun for my son to play with but for the price it didn't have very much sand. It's a great idea but the price is too high for the value, in my opinion.

Cheao design and missing pieces
Key does not work well and kept getting jammed. The chest is hard to open. Also, there were no gems included, although it says they are included on the box.

Key is terrible
Key is worthless. Part of the fun of opening a treasure box is using a key and this one is trash. The key flimsy and bends and it gets stuck in the keyhole. It's hard for adults to do let alone my 6 year old. Very frustrating to the point where she said this toy is stupid and she wished she never picked it out!! I may try to return it.

My 5 year old daughter and myself absolutely loved this treasure quest! At first, We thought our box didn’t come with the gold and jewels, but were still excited for the play and unlocking box. We got some of our own jewels, mixed and dug, and loved it. We suddenly noticed a clue in the chest wall. We referred back to the treasure map and read all the way through & boy was it exciting! Perfect opportunity to talk about the importance of following instructions (for myself also!) in a fun, exciting way!

Treasure chest container is terrible
It comes with a "key" to press into the keyhole to "unlock" the box. However, if you try and turn the key, as most kids will, it gets stuck and you can't open the chest. Also, if you don't press it into the keyhole exactly just right, the key gets stuck to the side or bottom of the latch. After fighting with it and fixing it three times, I ended up just bending the latch inward so it doesn't latch closed anymore. Sand and included toys are as expected, container needs to be sent back to the drawing board.

Great sand but false advertising!
My son really liked the sand, tools and gems. However, he was very disappointed because the box says there are 6 layers of discovery but there are only 3. Therefore, wrong information is given on the box.

Fun little treasure chest. The key doesn’t turn though, which is confusing. It just pushes the chest open, and gets stuck every time. Otherwise it was fun to explore and find all the pieces and hidden parts beneath the box - make sure to read the instructions! If the key actually worked, I’d give it 5 stars

A little disappointed
This was given to my 4 yr old son as a gift. He loves digging & playing with the sand, but was pretty disappointed when he dug through everything just to find his kit did not come with any gems.
